I truly think BSU is the best team we have played this year, even with a backup QB.

Keys for a BYU win:
Taysom's passing percentage > 60%.
Limit big plays. No TD given off of kick offs or punt returns.
Win the turnover battle.

If we hit these three marks, BYU will break the smurf curse and win the game.

The last 4 games against Utah, TCU, and Boise:

BYU is 0-4 vs Utah
BYU is 0-4 vs TCU
BYU is 0-3 vs Boise .... game 4 tomorrow!

I think BYU has a better defense so look for that streak to end tomorrow.

Arlington, VA

Utah is 0-4 vs Boise St (since Boise St moved to D-1A)
Utah is 0-4 vs Houston
Utah is 0-8 vs Washington

Instead of stressing about BYU's winless streaks, you should worry about your own.

Uteology is actually a Y fan I think. Notice that he is pushing for the streak to end.

Let's not underestimate the back up QB. Oregon State came in last year with a backup and still beat us. Lets go Cougars!!!

I was talking about recent history and you respond by digging up 70s records with Houston? Good one.

Utah is 0-3 against Boise
2-2 against TCU
4-0 against BYU

You might finally win one tomorrow. Good luck.

Get closer to the screen... Let me let you in on a secret... I am worried about being able to compete against Houston as much as I am worried about competing against BYU. Boise and Washington yes but teams like BYU? Nope! Why? Because has not lost to an unranked mid-major since 2007.

But this wasn't about Utah it's about BYU being owned recently. I thing you have a great chance of beating Boise. You are a better team so should win at home.

Provo, UT

Boise State wins 31 to 20 is my prediction. BYU has mental blocks against certain teams that aren't always better. Boise State knows where BYU is weak and will take advantage of these weaknesses. Williams is hurting so Hill will be relied on to provide a rushing attack. It will be close for a half, but like past weeks BYU will struggle I the second half and be the 21st Utah team in a row to lose to Boise.

Last year alot was wrong with this team. Problems fixed. Good job by Tom Holmoe. He sees a problem and fixes it. I like this guy.

Whether we win tonight or not, I know we can win it and not surely choke against a great team. The confidence and tools are there. No guarantees but we have a good fighting chance. That was not the case last year.

One last thing, put a brace on both of Taysoms knees and flack jacket him. He is fast enough. We need him out there every game. That would insure our success.

LOL at your hilarious "recent history" spin.

Recent history:

In BYU's last two games versus Boise State, BYU lost nail-biters at BSU 6-7 last year and at BSU 27-28 in 2008.

In Utah's last two games versus Boise State, Utah was DESTROYED 3-26 in 2010 and 3-36 in 2006.

In BYU's last two games versus TCU, BYU lost at TCU 28-38 in 2011 and at TCU 3-31 in 2010.

In Utah's last two games versus TCU, Utah was absolutely curb-stomped at home by TCU 7-47 in 2010 and at TCU 28-55 in 2009.

Of course, worrying about losing to unranked mid-majors shouldn't concern you, since you only play one or two per season. Unfortunately for U, you do have to worry about losing to unranked, conference bottom-dwellers like Colorado since you have to play several of them every season.

Call us when the Utes have their first winning season in their "big boy" conference.

We're going to crush these guys. We are a legacy NCAA football program and these guys are not relevant.

Boise State is an excellent, intelligent, skilled team that has won 20 straight games against Utah schools. That fact alone speaks volumes. BYU is in the best situation in a decade to win this game. Boise State is hurting with many key injuries including QB and running backs and several linemen. BYU has an ace in Tayson but Boise State matches with Chris Petersen perhaps the best mind in college football. Really smart coaches and staff win, consider he is the winningness active coach. Hill is the difference maker, if he is at his peak and doesn't turn the ball over BYU wins. My own forecast is that he does turn the ball over and Boise State is opportunistic and scores. BYU has more depth and size so despite the ebb and flow BYU should win at home but don't take it to the bank.

Cougs are good....no doubt about it, even as hard as it is for me to admit it. But I think they take a loss tonight. Even though they have played and beat some tough teams this year, they have not beaten a quality team like Boise. I think due to Petersons coaching Taysom gets flustered and throws a few interceptions. And just one other case in point, Uteanymous, when you haven't beat a team in 4 years, you can't really say call us when you do something in the "Big Boy" league. The Utes own BYU. So I think their fans can call you anytime. And I am not a Ute fan.

Peterson would sure look might fine in Cardinal and Gold colors! Get a coaching change in Boise. That should help out the head-to-head competition in the Cougs' favor.

BYU is improving each week.

BSU is not.

A highly motivated BYU, at home, on natural turf, in front of a national TV audience, will put a never-to-be-forgotten whipping on BSU.

BYU by 60.

There you go again and mildred in fillmore disagree with you completely. Boise State has a great tradition and a great team and coach. Yes they are hurting bigtime and have many injuries but be careful putting down someone higher up in the food chain because you can get eaten. Boise State has intelligent, skilled players and a 20 to 0 win streak against Utah schools which shows consistency. The Vegas margin is 7 pts that is not a blowout. Taysom one of the best QB this year is facing a brain trust of Chris Petersen and staff that have beaten, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington,Oklahoma these are not patsy's. They have also had some undefeated seasons and BCS wins. BYU at home has a great chance to win because of Boise States injuries but excellent athletes on both sides of the ball portend for a great game.

LOL at your hilarious "recent history" spin.

And why are you laughing?

Your team is on a 0-11 streak, Utah is 6-5 against same teams over the same period.

Why are you so sensitive? I said this was about BYU and that you have a great chance of winning. Do you disagree with my statement, because all you've done is try to SPIN how BYU is better than Utah in TWO games rather then FOUR. And you completely ignore Utah vs BYU games in your analysis.

Let me let you in on another secret...

BYU: 2012 Boise #18, #12 2004
Utah: 2010 Boise #9, #5 2006

BYU: 2011 #14 TCU, 2010 #2
Utah: 2010 #2 TCU, 2009 #6

I think even you can see the difference in the quality of opponents. Utah played FOUR top 9 teams, BYU just ONE.

McCammon, Idaho

AS a BSU fan I'm just hoping for a good clean game and a win. I do see a difficult night ahead for the Broncos if thy let Taysom run loose. However, if he runs as much as he has lately he's simply not going to hold up. He is a beast of an athlete, but I don't think anyone can hold up under those circumstances. I think your coaches are really taking chances with his health.

Phoenix, AZ

Oh Uteology, I love how absolutely obsessed with BYU your posts are. Thanks for proving BYU relevancy. Today, we're bowl eligible. Maybe, by the end of the season, Utah would be too. Maybe.

Bothell, WA

@Mildred (though why I'm wasting my time... /sigh...)

You're very right. We'll destroy them and make them non-relevant. Good call "Mildred"...
