Kindness is not the key to longevity and gold medals. That is not true at all. Kindness has absolutely nothing to do with gold medals.

Booya: I would think in terms of a partnership like couples figure-skating, kindness would be an important factor in keeping a duo together. It keeps egos in check, and facilitates cooperation. Where timing and coordination are so key I could see how it's one of those factors that matters but isn't a technical skill that's trained.

Actually, Booya, kindness is one of the keys to a successful partnership/relationship, and the success of the relationship/partnership is the key to all those gold medals. Without all the drama associated with other pairs/ice dancers, Meryl and Charlie can concentrate on their skills and art, and this concentration is what sets them apart from almost all of their competitors.
