Interesting that the loss is blamed on the Ute's losing their QB. Look at the grading of each of the two and it was a blessing in disguise for Travis Wilson to be replaced. Also, two missed field goals would only be good if Arizona didn't score their last touchdown. As is, had they both been good that would mean U still lose "by 5."

No to compare too much, but it's interesting to see Utah graded out basically the same as BYU, yet the Y won and the U lost. Be careful, DesNews, your PAC 12 bias is showing.

Our front seven on defense got rolled for 300 yards rushing... Defense D+.
From 100% FG percentage to 1 of 3 ... Special teams D.
Pick 6 and the inability to pass or score around the red zone ... Offense D-.

It was obvious that Wilson couldn't throw from the get go, not having a plan B and not having your team ready to play... Coaching F.

This was the worst game of the season and we still had a chance to win against a good team on the road. This was a winnable game, a blown opportunity. Time to move on and get ready for USC.

Hope Wilson is back and the defense figures how to stop the run. More importantly, I hope Coach KW and staff have the team ready to play from the start not after going down 20-7.

Go UTES!

I was not able to watch this game. My question is did wilson really look that bad and why was he not replaced earlier?

@Uteology:

I agree 100%. Let's hope they can get fired up for this week's contest in the Coliseum.

Go Utes!

The Wildcats were favored and they beat the utes again... That kind of makes the chris b prediction that utah was a guaranteed winner (100% sure) look a little silly...

Next week the Trojans will beat the utes by 2 TDs, then the utes will have a week off before the Sun Devils beat the utes for the 12th time in the past 13 meetings (only this time by 3 TDs), and that will be followed by the Ducks who will beat the utes in Eugene by 5 TDs)...

At that point the utes will have two games left and they will need to win both of them to be Bowl eligible... They play the WSU Cougars in the Palouse Country, which will end their Bowl asperations for yet another year, but they will have a 50/50 chance of finishing their season on an up note against the lowly Buffs in front of a half filled RES...(Another 5-7 year... ouch).

There will be no need to talk about a potential BYU - utah rematch in the SF Fight Hunger Bowl... The utes won't qualify... again.

I'm sorry but the big bad pac12 is not all that big or bad... In fact, they are pretty average...

They have one great team (Oregon) and a whole bunch that are dead average...

The league reminds me alot of the early days of the WAC when ASU and UA were in the conference with BYU, utah, Wyoming, CSU, UTEP, and UNM... A total of 8 teams... Back when PC did not rule America, the television and radio sportscasters use to refer to the league as ASU and the 7 dwarves whenever they talked football... Today the football pac12 is Oregon and 11 instead of 7.

In other words the difference between Oregon and the other 11 teams is probably the equivalent of a 3 full points on the Richter Scale when comparing the magnitude of earthquakes...

Thanks for rubbing it in; always a classy move. The funny thing is, as bad a season as Utah is having, they still slapped BYU around in Provo. I guess there in lies the angst. If BYU played the same schedule, they would be in the same position; if not worse. Don't kid your self!

I would hardly call that game slapping someone around.
a few plays different would have changed that game. Or BYU utilizing a red zone trip (Credit to Ute D)

It's funny how hypocrisy can run deep on these boards... How convenient it becomes for some of us to forget some of our previous posts...

Truth is BYU would have done better against AZ, the Cougs will do better against USC when we play them in SF... And the Cougs would have been Bowl Eligible with the utes schedule...

As for the 9/21/13 game??? Most all of us saw it and we know exactly what happened... The utes should be thanking their lucky stars that we are not playing that game in November... Losing to both the WSU and BYU (COUGARS) all in the same month would probably have been too much to bear for the folks on the hill.

But, come December 27 the ute faithful will be able to point to their television screens as BYU is taking out the Trojans and say..."We beat those guys in September"... (albeit thanks to a kick return called back, their best ILB suspended, their best RB out for the 4th qtr, and with the same Officiating Crew that helped ASU beat Wisconsin the previous week)... But hey, the utes sure "slapped the Cougs around"... lol.
