Nice article. It is hard to appreciate how damaging emotionally being unemployed/underemployed can be. In Utah we have it relatively good because our state is run very efficiently. Still, as an employer, it is frustrating to see how government regulations like the aptly misnamed Affordable Care Act can make it harder to hire people, only prolonging the suffering.

I think about all the jobs that COULD be were it not for the road blocks the democrats create. I think about the Keystone pipeline for example and all the similar energy type jobs - high paying - and plentiful ...were it not for a stubborn demagogue in the White House who refuses to give the green light. So sad and so unnecessary. If you visit Price Utah you see signs everywhere about the WAR against coal by the White House. Now throw in Obamacare and the forced cut in employment as well as hours by so many millions of people. ALL THIS CRAP is so unnecessary and the poor folks who can't find work SHOULD be able to. How long are people in this country going take it??
