BeSmart: I don't follow it like you do so for comparison, could also give
me the star ratings of Utah vs Stanford so I can get a better idea of how we
will do against USC. Add Arizona in there too. It will give us more info.
To ChrisThe stars are USUALLY right.Overall AVERAGE stars of a team
are very indicative of the talent level USC 3.9Utah 3.0
2-1 sounds great. The one comes Saturday and two against the 'C's.
Arizona's 3-3-5 defense could be something the Utes can take advantage of,
the O-line is a big, physical group that pushed around Stanford's very good
front 7, now they get a front 6, so hopefully the O-line comes out charged and
opens big holes for Poole, Radley, Williams, York, and Wilson to run through.
Arizona has also been pretty bad against the run in PAC12 play, but they did
face two pretty good rushing teams. A solid rushing attack will help get the
passing game going as well (and hopefully Erickson and Johnson come up with some
creative ways to get Dres the ball). I think if Utah plays well, they win this
one, but the one thing that worries me is that they could come out flat
following the big win over Stanford and because this is the first road game out
of Utah. Go Utes!
Arizona looks a lot like BYU did when we played them (not sure who's better
now), a bit better of a running back, a bit worse runner at QB, maybe a better
passer but Utah's D has been much better at defending the pass since then.
We will win them by 51 no problem because we keep it roling!
Utes win this by 17
Opinion here is that:a. Utah can handle the run.b. Utah is
much better defending the pass than we were against OState...plus, the AZ QB is
not as good as the OState QB...Manion is the #1 passing QB...is #11
over all in QB rating and leads all QB's in total offense...Utes beat Arizona by 10...
KaDeem's scary (good pun?). Last year I was most concerned with how the
defense would contain the passing and running ability of Matt Scott. The defense
played very well against him, but KaDeem ripped us for 200+ when we had been
one of the best run-stopping defenses in the conference all year. The
D's been solid against the run so far this year, too, and Denker isn't
nearly the passing threat that Scott was, so I like Utah's chances. But
Carey can still be good enough to turn a good scheme to mush. Exciting match up.
Just another week of PAC-12 football!
Lets keep this ball rolling!Go Utes!
