It's not just the elevator men, since they're a rare breed. A lot of
people 'know their building'. The cleaners, the steam engineer, the
guy in the mailroom. They know what's going on. Never overlook the unseen
or people otherwise considered inconsequential.
And so I said to the elevator operator, "I'll bet this job has its ups
