Time for Lee to resign.

Those supporting him, you need to leave Utah and spend some time in Washington DC to understand who you're trying to push into unemployment and what their role is in this great country. I'm confident the majority of you would would get educated pretty quick. Getting pretty tired of the high level of ignorance exerted from Utah. I'm Republican and I live in Utah County.

Mike Lee did not take an oath of office to listen to his constituents. Many of them are too uminformed or too supportive of the current socialism in this country. He took and oath of office to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States at all costs against all enemies both foreign and domestic. And that is what he is doing.

Mike Lee is fast becoming one of the many reasons that Hillary will be our next President.

People of Utah Senator Lee will negotiate when appropriate and when there are terms from both sides that encourage negotiations. As of yet, the Dems have not put anything on the table to negotiate and their position has been we will only talk after we get 100% of what we want. That's not going into the process with an open minded game plan. We need to stand behind the Senator and trust in his logic and intelligence to help bring a sensible solution to this problem. Again, remember it was the Obama administration with Harry and Nancy that pushed through the Obamanable Care Act without allowing time for it to be studied by members of the House or Senate. Senator Lee forget the polls as you have and fight on, we stand with you!

Ahhhhhhhh....the intoxicating brew of Washington power! It has the tendency of throwing common sense out the window!

It's a new day. The GOP House appears to be caving.
One more time we will be allowed to spend more than we have and print funny money to cover for it.
But the stock market loves it.
Perhaps one day we will look back and wish the GOP had stood firm...and wish we had listened to Mike Lee.

"Halved paychecks force the furloughed to slash expenses and take loans, second jobs", in the Washington Post today.

This is what you voted for Lee supporters. Hope you're proud.

Remember what happened to Newt Gingrich's power play and his foibles. Even though this President is not the best President the Court and Legislative Powers have power also and influence on him, even though he may get control of those powers. Senator Lee took power through an underhanded method and the powerful even though introvert Robert Bennett lost his seat in an instant due to the powerful lobbyists of the Freedom Works. Senator Hatch was able to beat that machine of outside money and influence.

Hopefully, the GOP in Utah will learn that the minority few can and has controlled their party for more than 4 years. This was a gradual ascent and that is where we lose through non-action of everyday citizens that should be involved in politics.

Senator Hatch had the same Freedom Works group against him for 2 years prior to the election. Sometimes people use the name "Freedom" to an extreme purpose and opposite of what should really be.

Mitt Romney had that influence from the Tea Party that really did in the GOP during the last election. We may not like Obamacare but the processes of the elected government officials passed and signed it.

29% approval rating for Republicans in a Gallup poll, 24% in an NBC poll, both are the lowest scores ever recorded. This shutdown is awfully stupid, but if Republicans are going to shoot themselves in the foot, I guess that's one consolation.

He has nothing to worry about, you guys wont vote him out of office because he's safe with the caucus system, so when he shows up on the ballot next to a guy/gal with a "D" by their name, you wont think twice to re-elect a guy who has no business representing the State of Utah the Senate.

Stick to your guns Senator Lee - I like the tenacity you use in your issue. Hopefully, someday these Democrats and also wishy washy Republicans will open their eyes and really see what is good for our Country and not for their pockets. What a shame - such self-righteous citizens.

Someone has to put an end to the insane nonsense going on in Washington when it comes to spending money. I hate to break it to them but there is a limited amount out there & you can't keep spending like there's an eternal spring.
Thank you JMT (Springville) & DRay (Roy) for trying to help the public better understand the truth.

More right-wing rhetoric. It is tiring to read CUT, CUT, CUT with nothing specific that you want cut. It didn't work in the last election, and it won't work in upcoming elections. How about you give an actual list of what to cut and how much money it will save the country. As much as I didn't like Rep. Ryan's plan, at least he put together a plan. The rest of the right-wing deals in bumper-sticker, talking point politics and have nothing concrete or original to offer.

I'm glad Sen. Mike Lee is doing what he was elected to do rather than caving to the media and establishment republicans. It's ridiculous to see all the weak knees that people have once the media and progressives start bullying.

You hit the nail on the head. I am asking Lee to negotiate. Offer some terms. Govern! But he isn't doing that. Right now all he is doing is stomping his foot and saying listen to me.

to bandersen yesterday night...

"thank you senator Lee. the fact that he has stirred up so much **animosity** is a great sign that he is doing what is right,"

But, isn't **contention** of the Devil? If only I could recall the source of that wisdom?

Mike Lee should talk about them and say that he was elected to make very difficult, yet necessary choices to safeguard and even restore more of our liberties from an ever-encroaching federal government.

I support his leadership on bills and initiatives to reduce our federal budget and federal programs.

I don't support his not talking to DNews or other outlets about the polls.
