Alterego, let me paint ANOTHER scenario for YOU. Utes beat Stanford. BYU game is
in the rearview, and Utah continues to improve against top competition in the
conference with the best parity in the country.
With close losses to Oregon State and UCLA, UTE fans are sure their team is a
fingertip away from "truly arriving" in their new conference. Let me
paint another scenario for you; one just as realistic. The UTES have
been treading water so far and have been very lucky to have close losses this
year and when they experience a big loss and are dominated in every phase of the
game by a superior Stanford team, the UTES will crumble. They will not
seriously compete in another match this year and at the end of the year,
Whittingham's ability to coach and motivate his team will be questioned by
UTE fans and by the media.
I think the Utes have a very good shot. Stanford and Utah are very similar in
the fact they are both very physical teams. I think the key is getting pressure
We need to get better vs the PAC 12. From observing the Utes this year and from
reading this article, I get that we're on the right track. For
you detractors, we got better vs byu 20 years ago.Go Utes.
"truly arrive"We've had so many poor pac starts that
we're bound to stumble into an arrival sooner or later. Not likely this
UoU1991,You're a byu fan who said the same thing about the UCLA
game. And to think, if Wilson only throws 2 picks in that game we destroy UCLA
by 14+I like our chances now more than ever. Throw less than 3
picks and we win this game.Utah 32Stanford 27October 12, 2013 will long be remembered as the night we truly arrive in the
Pac 12.And it will be the best win of ANY team in the state of Utah
in DECADES.Go Utes!Onward and Upward
Playing a Top 5, senior-dominated team doesn't sound like a remedy for
improving Utah's usual PAC 12 woes. The Utes will be lucky to
keep this one close.
