I think that what they wanted to be when they grew up was immature. They became just that.

One Vote... "Responsible leadership foreign concept to radical tea party ."

Really? Only the TEA PARTY? What about Harry Reid not allowing a single bill to come to the senate floor to free money for the VA or Washington DC city?

Is that responsible leadership? BOTH parties have leadership issues... get with reality...

@Confused. Why should Reid let piece meal bills come to the senate floor? He isn't stupid and knows exactly the strategy behind it.

Republicans should pass a clean funding bill because Obamacare is considered mandatory spending not discretionary spending and it is the law of the land.

Re: "Democracy is founded on the principle of opposing ideas being debated and discussed with the hope that consideration of various viewpoints will result in an overall better decision"...

- Obama promised to change "Washington as usual"... did he do it?
- He promised an atmosphere of cooperation... Did locking Republicans out of his first act, his landmark legislation, bring an atmosphere of COOPERATION to Washington??

Either he lied to us... or he has no idea how to bring cooperation to Washington. You SURELY don't do it by locking the other side out and ramming your landmark legislation through without a single minority vote!

The tea party planned and hope to shut down government to obtain leverage they could not get in elections. Now they are preventing a majority from bringing a bill to the floor for reopening. No spin can undo what they planned. The party legacy was the shutting down of government to un-fund a funded law.

Legislators are not necessarily supposed to be "leaders". They are actually supposed to be "Representatives". Which means they should follow (the will of the people who elected them to represent them in Washington).

The President is supposed to be a "Leader". Legislators legislate, President's lead. It isn't Legislators job to inspire the people or rally the troops or share their vision with our people or our allies. That's the President's job. He needs to be a "Leader". That's why I HATE when we elect Legislators to be President. Ex-Governors make better Presidents/Leaders than Ex-Senators. Legislators are great talkers and great spinners, and great campaigners but TERRIBLE leaders.

Legislators write laws and represent their constituents by voting on those laws (and argue, bicker, and score political points). Seems like there is very little actual legislating going on, or voting going on, and mostly just arguing, spinning, and campaigning going on.

Congress people are just about getting on TV, getting in the public eye, spinning things for the media and the public, and tripping up their opposition. That's all they do in Washington today!

If the tea party does not shut down the ACA. Time for the tea party to shut down because of the desperate unilateral attempt to cause hysteria.
