Wish this young couple well. It is great to have an adventure to go away for school. In state would have been too easy. Good luck to both of you..

Why is it so hard to believe someone can leave Utah as a Mormon and find great experiences in other parts of the country? We left Salt Lake for Rock Hill, SC ten years ago and it was the best thing that could have happened to our family. This shouldn't be news. The "Church" is everywhere now. For anyone who has an opportunity to make such a move - do it and embrace the opportunity! You will actually get closer to your relatives when you can't see them everyday and the chance to make friends outside the ward is an amazing thing too!

Well written story! It's nice to hear about young people who are brave enough to look at life as an adventure, especially after reading your story about young people who are the sad victims of helicopter parenting. Best of luck to this terrific young couple!
