But,
Isn't this what Tea-Party Republicans think people will do 24/7/365/infinity?

This shutdown is a Tea-Party dream come true!
A Government cutdown and shutdown to only the bare essentials.

The unfortunate truth about political war is that it is only the little people who get hurt.

Another truth about political war is that it is simply the competition between the various business factions for control over the consumer.

Further truth about political war is that it creates a greater supply of victims for the parasites of society to feed upon.

Nice sentiments, but pretty unrealistic. All the charity we ordinary people can drum up is a drop in the barrel next to the needs of those kept afloat by government (because the free-market economy doesn't care about them). Part of the reason charity falls so far short is that the wealthy give so little back while taking so much from the system. Talk about makers and takers. The biggest takers are the top 1 percent, who certainly haven't "earned" what they take. The small people who produce their wealth get the shaft, while they take the profit.

The biggest threat to our country is the rapidly expanding inequality. Solve that and most other problems, even the debt, go away.

Leave to the liberals, some even posing as religious, to disparage helping the poor and needy.

Your stripes are showing boldly today.

Badger, where in the world do you find any disparaging helping the poor -- unless they are one of the Tea Party conservatives?

I have a great idea! Let's elect Pope Francis as leader of the House.

When you can convince and convert 350 Million Americans to "Mormonism",
I'll be there with your, Brother.

But, I live in the real world, with a Secular Government.

Excuse me now,
I have a neighbor who needs my help to move,
a cannery assignment,
and the Boy Scouts to attend to.

Because we don't need the Government to help with anything.

Judging from the small number of posts, would I be correct in assuming that most readers actually agree with it?

Gee, wouldn't it be nice if everyone had as much wisdom and the writer of this letter.

Yes it is a Tea Party dream come true, but in a way it's mine too. How? Clear out all the clutter and there is much too much. Why is anyone still in their jobs (including the President who refused to compromise). I say fire them all, isn't it we tax payers paying their salaries? Look at the original Constitution, how many did it take to write it and defend it?

The writer is opposing a mind set bent on destruction of our country by the bitter tea party making a last stand. But the economy they want to trash so gold goes to 3000 will cause the power brokers to put them back in their radical corner.
