This new study is part of the mammography wars. The revelations of someone who has more closely scrutinized this war (Rolf Hefti in his ebook "The Mammogram Myth: The Independent Investigation Of Mammography The Medical Profession Doesn't Want You To Know About") sheds light on the true significance of this new research finding. The reality is that many scientific facts (studies uncovered no significant decrease in mortality of breast cancer from mammogram use, the most prominent studies in support of mammograms are methodologically flawed, nearly all pro-mammogram studies involve researchers conflicted by vested interests -Daniel Kopans, a co-author of this new study, is an example thereof) convincingly invalidate this new finding/recommendation regarding mammogram use.
