I get a kick out of these 'religious leaders weigh in on' articles. Some of the leaders are caught by their own religion, unable to reconcile what they see as social responsibilities of the church with the demands of their hard right customers. Then there's the dude who feels god is OK with a military takeover somehow. I'm sure it plays well to his audience, and enables their attitudes and behaviours. Yet they're both reading the same playbook. As the song goes, if two men say they're Jesus, one of 'em must be wrong. I'd hazard a guess that probably both are.
