Our season ends with a thud tomorrow night; the only thing we'll have to look forward to after that is the annual pillow fight to determine whether Colorado or Utah gets to spend the long cold winter in the PAC 12 basement.

4-8 and once again watching bowl from the comfort of our couch.

Go Utes!

We can argue who has the tougher schedule ( which is silly because it is so obvious) , but...

... At least the question of who the better team is has already been answered on the field.

Utah's schedule is brutal from here on out this year, especially the next 6 games. I mean if you are unfamiliar, check it out. Utah has UCLA, Stanford, Arizona, USC, Arizona State, and Oregon in that stretch. Four are in the top 25 currently with Oregon and Stanford both in the top 5, UCLA at #12, and Arizona State at # 21.

There is no doubt to me that Utah is a better team this year than they have been the first two years in the PAC 12, but their defense is a young and inexperienced group that needs its' talent to come together to become bowl eligible.

Utah's offense is a bright spot, but they haven't proven just yet, that they can be consistent. With the extremely difficult schedule this season, Utah will have to be much better than the last two years to even come close to equaling the 8-5 season in 2011 (the inaugural PAC 12 season). Utah would have to go 4-4 and then win a bowl game to go 8-5. That is a tall order. I would take 7-6 in a heartbeat, which would include a bowl win

We have the best team because we have more stars and we are in a bcs conference and we won weber by 70 points so we have a stronger schedule than any else. We will win the rosebowl this year for sure.

@Christy,

Our seasons's quest continues tonight, and next week, and so on.

In fact, after winning tonight, we'll be in the drivers seat for the Pac 12 South.

I've said all season whoever wins tonight WILL win the Pac 12 south.

You're going to look quite silly after Utah wins tonight.

Utah 27
UCLA 24

Utah, I hate you with white hot heat, that aside, don't count yourself out. You have immense talent individually and as a team. Much could happen, stranger things have happened. It goes much deeper than "I believe" statements. Focus, effort, attention to detail and determination. If you have played your hardest the score won't represent what you have done on the field. Represent, most of all, the state of Utah well the rest of the season.

Your sunny optimism is a joy. How does 1 win (over UCLA) balance one loss to OSU, and virtually certain losses to Stanford, Oregon, ASU and Arizona? Are you assuming that UCLA and USC will lose out the rest of the season? I think the Utes best chances of a PAC12 win are one of Cal and CU.

Let's try to beat UCLA before you start counting up championships.

LOL!

I'm sure Ute fans are so looking forward to that exciting game at the end of the season against Colorado.

"Five of Utah's next six opponents, USC being the lone exception, are ranked in the top 30 of the Sagarin ratings.
. . .
BYU still will face five teams in the top 40 of the Sagarin ratings"

Nicely done DNews. Kudos for the sleight-of-hand in the apples to oranges comparison.

How about let's do a valid side-by-side analysis?
Upcoming opponents in the Sagarin top 30:
Utah 5, BYU 2 (Boise St. 33, GaTech 34, ND 38)
Sagarin top 40 you say? Let's compare:
Utah 6 (USC 37), BYU 5

BlueHusky:

You're predictions might have a bit more credibility (BTW, what was your record w/ BYU's first 3 games?) if you at least knew Utah doesn't play Cal--they were replaced by Stanford.

You won the head to head, congrats. You have BYU's number. It's great to see that you can get up for one game of the year. What are you going to do for the next two years? Flat going to all the games?

Your going to lose big tonight ChrisB. Big, not 20-14, 48-13. And you will wonder why Utah keeps falling on their face.

CougarSunDevil, whats your excuse going to be when Utah wins tonight?

Chris B,
0-2 in conference and 0-2 out of the State of Utah!!! Hope you did not spend all your savings on the trip to the PAC12 championship game and Rose Bowl!!! The good news is that you replaced a sure out of conference win against BYU with Idaho State next year!!! Good luck the rest of the way!!! I wonder how long the Utes will be stuck at 7 conference wins!!!

Go BYU beat the Aggies!!!

Of course it's harder for BYU and Utah. They play ranked teams almost every week. Who does USU play? SJSU, Fresno, Hawaii, Wyo, and so on. You get my point. I think the only team on their conference schedule is Boise. Notice I said conference schedule.
