Another advantage to being independant - there are no "Pivotal Games."
UCLA by 13. I think Utah scores late to bring it close but I think UCLA
controls and wins the game.
Re: Stringer Bell"Give it up. Mildred in Fillmore has already
done this, and better. Your shtick is not original and not funny."Cletus...don't mind Stringer Bell. Mildred in Fillmore or Chris B.
certainly have nothing on you. It's revealingly obvious that you are just
as original and funny.
Nebraska may not be what it once was, but their homefield advantage is
undeniable. Having been at Memorial Stadium to witness a very emotional game for
my alma mater, the 91,000 plus make for a very intimidating setting. Although,
Husker fans were incredibly classy to start the game( I will always be a Husker
fan for the compassion they showed that day), they were LOUD, and very much into
the game. That is just one of the reasons they were 18-1 at home until that UCLA
loss. I would imagine that RES is pretty much the same. Your home field
advantage is the biggest reason I had a hard time sleeping last night. Hope it
is one to remember.
AZUTE1To date, with SOS already factored in, UCLA is ranked #11 in
the Sagarin ratings, while Utah is ranked #32. This point seems continuously
lost on you. It's laughable that you constantly harp on SOS,
while completely ignoring the other, more important, ranking. You do
realize, that team rankings are derived by comparing record versus competition,
So Utah barely beats Utah State at home - a team Utah fans claim isn't very
good.Utah stomps Weber State - yawn.Utah loses to OSU - a team Utah
fans claim isn't very good.Utah barely beats BYU - a team Utah fans
claim isn't very good, despite BYU stomping Texas. And now, Utah fans
think they're going to stomp UCLA.Either UCLA isn't a
legitimate Top 15 team, or the Utes are going to have to get very lucky to beat
a much better team.
MyPerspectiveUtah's season ended after their first conference
game; the writing was already on the wall -whether Utah or Colorado will finish
in the PAC basement is the only drama left.
@AZUTE1You have to read my last comment. It is contrary to
everything you just said. I admitted that the schedule does not say much. Do
you really think that Utah's schedule is really all that better? Do you
really think that the Utes really have the #39 schedule in the country? And
maybe they do? But maybe it is because of all their future games still to play.
I don't know. Maybe it is teams like New Mexico State, Nevada, Colorado,
WAZZU, and Utah that bring their schedule strength down, I don't know SOS
means nothing to me. Ask Notre Dame last year, it didn't work out for them
last year having the toughest schedule.Your Utes schedule:Utah State - Have they really been tested yet.Weber State - Really? I
know you don't want to go hereOregon State - Weren't you one
crying on here about how bad OSU was because they lost to Eastern Washington.
They beat Utah, in Utah, at Rice EcclesBYU - Sorry Y fans, but again
really. They can't throw a TD, UCLA canI will be here tomorrow
win or lose, will you?GO BRUINS!
I am not funny because I am right and you will see. The Utes are the best team
because we are in a BCS conference and that makes us better by far and we have
more players in the NFL than weber and byu and the utah aggies.Go
UtahBruin--To date, ucla's SOS ranks #130, while The U's
ranks #39. This point seems continuously lost on you.NU, not unlike
UT/others, had zero business ever being ranked. Their name and, perhaps, their
potential were behind it.Wyoming is a perfect example, as they put
over 600 yards total-O on nu in Lincoln, out-gaining nu, and narrowly lost by 3
points. Few weeks later, Wyoming visits Texas State and manages roughly half
this total and gets utterly smashed, 42-21.You continue to go on and
on about these offensive numbers, among others, as if ucla has faced top-flight
Ds. I'm not suggesting ucla lacks talent, this goes w/out saying, but it
remains a fact that they've yet to be tested. Their sole game to which
they can point was their game against nu....nebraska is a shell of what they
were back in the day and you people need to understand, it's no great feat
to go into memorial stadium and whoop them. Their D has been an enormous source
of embarrassment for years now! They've continued right where they left
off last season w/a triple-digit Total-D ranking!
Re : CletusGive it up. Mildred in Fillmore has already done this,
and better. Your shtick is not original and not funny.
Utes will spank the ucla tonight because we have a hiesman trophy canidate
quarterback playing for us tonight. Just look at his stats laster year because
that tells all. Write it down now as you read this for sure.
Chris B,I do not claim to speak for all BYU fans but I do not feel the
need to hide even if the Utes find a way to win tonight and I will be here to
give my congrats just like I did after Utah beat my Cougs!!! I still think that
UCLA is the better team and will win tonight!!! Good luck tonight! Utah is still
looking for their first win against a team out of the State and bigger then the
BYU win!!!LOLUCLA 70Utah 14
The temperature will be about what it is in L.A at night in mid January. If
UCLA keeps their starters in all game long, they just might be gasping for
breath come 4th quarter.Go Utes!
Nicely done a Bruin, we shall see. Looking forward to this Thursday night,
center stage, matchup! Sometimes comments are taken out of context. Let's
revisit this after the game, I think it will be a hard fought close game, but I
have been wrong before: once or twice! When it comes to college football,
anything is possible!
SpokaneUteLet me try to explain my thoughts. And it does not mean
they are right by any means. I have seen every UCLA and every Utah game this
year. Having watched the games, I like UCLA's Offense and Defense better.
I think we are faster on both sides of the ball. This is only from what I have
seen. I think UCLA is that much better, of course I am biased. I am a UCLA
fan. I know we have not played the toughest competition, so a measuring stick
may be flawed. But I honestly believe we are 24 points better. Now with that
said, it is impossible to compare two teams until they are on the same field. I
could be dead wrong, and if I am. I will be here tomorrow and give my props to
the Utes, I promise. Also, with this weather, I am thinking this game will be a
lot closer than some are thinking. The last time we were here and played in bad
weather, we got bombed. Seriously, good luck to your Utes, I do hope my Bruins
win. It will be closer, I agree.
Odds are the Bruins win this one. But you cant blame a Ute fan for going with
his heart in this one. It will be a close game, weather may or may not effect
the outcome, and a lucky bounce either way certainly could.Go Utes!
@JT-XUtah beat the best from the SEC when they dumped Alabama in the
Sugar Bowl. How did your Ducks fare against the SEC in BCS bowls? Do tell.@ BruinA 7 point game is far more realistic then a 24 point
game. We shall see.
It's an honor to have the nationally ranked UCLA Bruins coming to RES. Good
luck to both teams. If the Utes can pull it off, it will be their biggest
win since the Sugar Bowl. Go Utes.
People keep talking about Vegas odds, it opened at 3, it is now as high as 7 at
Sportsbook. Some also keep talking about how last year the Utes only lost
21-14. Hey, I admit, Utah has all but owned UCLA from 2007 to 2011. Also, last
years game was 21-7 until Utah scored with 3 minutes to go in the 4th. It was
really not as close as some may think. I know watching last years game. I was
not worried at all about Utah coming back. However, it is a new year, a new
game, and we are at Utah tonight. I admit, I don't like the weather for
this one, but we just have to play. I still like our chances.GO
Utes will win 27-24. Enough said!!
J-Tex, if you are really a Duck fan living in Texas, why in the world would you
spend time trolling Utah articles on a Utah based paper/website? Me thinks you
are a Y fan in disguise as no Duck fan I know, especially one that doesn't
live in Utah, would spend time leaving countless anti Utah remarks. Though
that makes you no different than myriad of fans of other teams that have popped
up the last couple of years (AKA BYU fans in poor disguise) trolling Utah
articles. Sad really; too ashamed to claim your real team. Go Utes.
TheSportsAuthority"Utah's season will be over with nothing
but the annual pillow fight in the Rockies to look forward to."I
really have to hand it to byu fans...no one in the country knows better what
it's like to have their season end after the first game. LOL!! Did you enjoy the Virginia game, SportsAuthority?
Good thing Ducks like the rain, Chris. Have fun after the Autzen slaughter....
Where will all you byu fans be hiding when Utah wins tonight?Get
your crow readyUtah 27UCLA 24I'll be there
tonight, rain or shine.Will U?
Utah is lucky to be in the South, where there is only one good team, UCLA. In
the North, Oregon is the class, followed by Washington (this year) and Stanford.
Utah has the bad luck to play UO and Stanford this year, both games will leave
them crying. Every team on the remaining Ute schedule is capable of beating
Utah - even Colorado, if recent history is any indication.Hard to
understand where all the Ute arrogance comes from. Oh, yeah, 4-0 against BYU.
Well, THAT'S an accomplishment.....Good thing U won your bowl game already,
because I doubt there is another one in your future this year.- A
Utah lost by 7 last year at UCLA. The spread is 6 points. Those are realistic
numbers. A 28 point prediction carries about as much weight as a Chris B
prediction. Utah has played UCLA very tough over the last 3 meetings, I
don't see that changing tonight. When you post outlandish predictions the
knowledgable fan is going to call you out on it. GO UTES
Mildred may I remind you that your beloved cougars have already lost to the only
PAC12 team on their schedule. That's four in a row and three more years to
I hope Utah can show up to the game. However I think UCLA pulls this one out
unless our corners can get a couple of turnovers. UCLA is much more of a rounded
team than Utah is.Go Utes!!
@UteologyIf you have been here this week on all the UCLA Utah
articles, you know I picked that score all week. I did not pick the same as
anyone else. I picked my score. I have pitched my UCLA faithfulness on this
site for years. And I can't see myself as a BYU homer since I also picked
Utah to win the game against Utah.Good luck to your Utes,
here's to a good game.GO BRUINS!
UtahBruinSaratoga Springs, UTI ama huge UCLA fan, have been
since I ever watched football when I was a kid. I like UCLA of course in this
game. I have picked a score of UCLA 45 Utah 17, but man this weather is starting
to scare me. I still like my Bruins but dang why could this game not be played
in good weather.GO BRUINS!--------------You
ironically picked the same score as TheSportsAuthority who is a known die hard
BYU homer who jumps to any bandwagon that plays Utah. Why? Because his team
has no chance to "beat" so he jumps from team to team that might.
@TheSportsAuthorityUtah 20BYU 13BYU lost it's
Super Bowl, with nothing but pillow fights across America for the next 3 years
to look forward to.Good luck!As far as Utah, Vegas likes
UCLA by 5 points. It will be close game I think if Utah wins the TO margin then
Utah 38 UCLA 30.Go UTES!

UCLA 48Utah 13Rose Bowl bound? PAC-12 South bound? The only
thing more pathetic than the entire state of Utah is anyone thinking that Utah
is anything but 11th or 12th place this year. If Colorado wasn't on their
schedule, I'd predict a defeated PAC-12 schedule this year for Utah.
We will win ucla by 43 points. We are in a bcs conference.
Utah 28UCLA 24Sorry BYU fans you will have to wait another
week and pull for Utahs next opponent. Something you will do all season since
all authorities know BYU can't beat Utah
Utah 3 turnoversUCLA 1 turnoverUCLA 45Utah 17Utah's season will be over with nothing but the annual pillow fight in

As a fan of football, I'm just hoping for a good game. Let's hope
both teams bring their A game!
I like the Bruins in this one. They have a defense like BYU and an offense that
can score in about 50 different ways. Turnovers could be a huge key in this
one. I think the Utes need to get at least 4 to win this one. The Utes are a
long ways from contending for the crown. They may win the South in the Pac 12
but the overall title is out of the question at least for the foreseeable
future. No offense to the Utah fans, it's just an opinion.
BYU would win the PAC 12. That is why we weren't invited.
@Eddie:Seriously? At 0-4...? I have one word for you:
Eddie..How does it feel to know that your lowly little Cougs can't beat the
Where are all the ute trolls? Oh, that's right, they are al over on the BYU
articles commenting on that team that they have "moved on" from. Have
fun getting your buns handed to you tomorrow! No Rose Bowl or Bowling again this
year. Maybe you need one of those life alert things....."we've fallen
and we can't get up!" It' down there in the basement, isn't
It's going to be a cold stormy night - perfect scenario for Utah.I'm calling it now:UCLA 3 turnoversUtah 1 turnoverUtah 27UCLA 24And Utah will be ranked in the top 25!
Things I've said since the preseason:1. Utah would beat

our way)4. the Utah/UCLA winner would win the Pac 12 SouthAnd
at home, I like our chances.Utah 27UCLA 24 Mark it
Win Thursday = Pac 12 South titleThat's been my opinion since
before the season beganAnd for those who say Utah wont win, you are
the people who said Utah wouldn't beat usu and wouldn't byu.And those turned out just great!Go Utes!Onward and
