Will I guess we need to have dialogue on where our priorities are.Do
we wish to support Americans or foreigners ?If we were to cut our
foreign aid to Israel for ten years it would amount to $30 billion plus.Enough to cover the "food stamp" deficit. We need to
have intelligent dialogue on where we want our priorities.I feel it
ought to be with locals first. Am I wrong?
This is just silly. The purpose of religion is to change the
individual, not provide sound bites for political debate. I love to see
individuals in the political arena who have been shaped by their faith. I love
when they have a worldview based on what they have learned in their religious
studies and the exercise of their faith. But it really turns me off
to see them use sacred texts as if the scriptures were a club to beat others
into submission rather than a guidebook to shape their own faith.
Cut the food stamp program. How many verses does Jesus walk into
Caesars treasury and take a portion of it and evenly split it among the poor?
I've counted zero so far.I have read where Jesus uses his own
resources or resources that people volunteer to assist the poor.Somehow people have translated His actions, into stealing from someone to give
to someone else is okay. But, to work and be industrious and successful is evil
and a horrible place to be. Unless if you are the leader then you can live in
the lap of luxury (presidency, senate, congress, supreme court).
Thought it rather interesting that Cramer quoted "2 Thessalonians
3-10"What makes him think all these people are
"deadbeats" and don't work? Many do work, but have low paying
jobs, children and are simply trying to make things work. No, the system
isn't perfect and there are some people who are "deadbeats" and on
the dole. But show me a perfect program and I'll show you the only person
who is running it is God.
