“We’ll regroup and rebound,’’ said Wells. “We have a short week coming up against San Jose and we have every goal ahead of us that we want to play for, including the Mountain West championship. We’ll regroup and move on."

THIS. Tough loss, but we still played well against a top 5 defense. If our D can replicate their performance from yesterday in each game moving forward, I think we have a legit shot at the Mountain West title. That's more important to me than winning a money game anyway.

I still (and always will) believe. Go Aggies!! Love you guys.

And you also have the epic matchup with byu, to determine the second best team in the state.

The possibilities of being the second best team in the state and winning a WAC championship must have Logan in quite a buzz.

@Utah/ucla wins Pac 12 South - Do your homework buddy... USU is in the MWC now. The Aggies are having a great season, and I think they will win the MWC. As a Ute fan, I'm glad the Aggies are doing so well, and am happy to see that a Utah team is still dominating the MWC.

Utah/UCLA wins Pac 12 South...your post is a great example of what's bad about some fans posting here...sarcasm directed against a team, university, and conference that has no recognition of the fact that USU beat Utah last year, was an onside kick away from beating them this year and certainly the Aggies are as competitive as the Utes (we shall see how your team does against USC in the future). The MWC is the perfect conference for the Aggies where we can compete for the championship. The same cannot be said (yet) for the Utes. And if all of the teams in the state were superb, then nothing wrong with being second best.

Utah/UCLA
Just ignore them. We get to fired up of a few lame fans. Most UofU fans are very good folks!

I wasn't nearly as bummed as I thought I would be after watching this game. USU is still REALLY good in my eyes. That Defense is completely STACKED!!!! I would bet most of that D will end up going pro! Like always if it wasn't for a completely BLOWN call by yet again Pac 12 officials this game may have been very different!

Aggies will be just fine! I don't think many teams will do what we did to that D!

Go Aggies!

Of course he knows we're in the MWC. He calls it the WAC and goes out of his way to talk about BYU and Utah State battling it out to be the 2nd best team in the state because he's intentionally passive aggressive.

And he refuses to let himself be called out on it. Everyone's gotta get their laffs somehow, I suppose.

I'm thinking this season is unfolding (so far) at lot like last season. I think we're in a great position to win the MWC, and I can't wait to see what we do to SJSU.

Let's go Aggies! Pillage San Jose!

Sofa,

Just remember, however "bad" we are, you're worse!

LOL

Pac 12 jealousy is rampant in provo and logan

Maybe if you guys go undefeated twice in a decade, have two top 5 seasons in a decade, and beat an SEC powerhouse in one of the biggest bowl games a big conference will come calling for you!

I said after the Utah - USU game that Utah State will win 9-10 games and I still stand by that prediction. Utah State played good on Saturday, USC's defense stood up in the 4th quarter. Good luck the rest of the way Aggies; this Utah fan will be pulling for you.

The WAC 2.0 title is a great thing to shoot for. SJSU is one of the easiest teams to beat and even USU can do it. I still find it funny that they couldn't step up and win the biggest game of the season. Just like last year and countless years before. But go after that coveted WAC 2.0 title guys. It's the best confrence for you and it's the best title for you to go after.

Wow Utah you must feel pretty good about getting into a conference because they wanted to be in your market, not because you are actually good at anything. Adding Colorado and Utah is probably the worst decision ever made by the PAC-12 in terms of competition, but hey, they have Denver and Salt Lake now.

@ncs53

Would you prefer the PAC12 called USU? That would've been a bad decision for the PAC12.

Hey Stang, how many big schools has SUU beaten in the past 50 years?

USC has a better defense than any team we face all year. It makes us a tougher team. Ultimately what matters most is conference games. We will be tougher having taken it to the wire with usc. Go aggies!

At this time of year, the Utes and Aggies have some good experience under their belts as they turn their full attention to winning games in their respective conferences. Full steam ahead with conference superiority as the number one goal.

Then there is byu, full attention on winning their conference, as well...oh wait.

Well, at least they have the mighty Blue Raiders from Middle Tennessee State to "worry" about. What an epic match-up that will be. ESPN is highly anticipating the ratings from this East vs. West battle on Friday night, no less. So much so, the world wide leader put it on ESPNU, sweet.

Hey, at least they have the same color scheme as the cougars, perhaps Bronco can get an idea for another t-shirt by seeing what the Blue Raiders wear.

We'll see Chris. UU played better than USU in 1 game. Good for them, they had things go their way. However we play a full season for a reason. If USU has a better season, and is ranked above Utah, that is a good indicator that USU is better.

In terms of jealousy, maybe in Provo? But those of us in Logan are happy in the MWC. We're going to be able to repeat Utah's successful recipe by beating up on the bad teams in the MWC, go in and upset a BCS team or 2, and gain national recognition. Hopefully it works. None of us really are obsessive over conference affiliation to really care. We're just glad we escaped the WAC.

As a fan of the Utes, I want USU to win from now on so that it makes our win look good. If you are a Ute fan and are cheering for the aggies to loose against any team (excluding the ute's) then you really not a Ute fan.

Stang08

@SaltLakeCitySlicker

I'm not ashamed to admit 1. That's more than USU. And what does it matter to a Ute fan?

Mars_

If USU does well in the MWC and becomes bowl eligible, there's the possibility of us going to the Las Vegas Bowl, where we'd likely get another matchup with a PAC-12 team. I'd like another crack at them.

Chris B...I don't think there is an iota of PAC 12 jealousy in Logan. The fact that you think there is speaks volumes about you. USU would not be competitive in the PAC 12 year after year (and neither is Utah at the moment!). I live in AZ and am a Sun Devil fan. Believe me, being mediocre year after year loses its charm very quickly. Utah will probably discover the same as they try and compete against Stanford, USC, Oregon, Cal, Washington, Arizona and ASU where year after year they can pretty well count on losses. MWC (or WAC 2.0 as some like to put it) is a perfect fit for USU and I'm looking forward to many seasons of competing for the conference title. The downward slide of D. Erickson is going to prove not to be the solution for the Utes. Mark it Down!
