I did not blame our loss on the officiating. You outplayed us fair and square
and we deserved to lose! That does not change the fact that the officiating was
really pretty bad. I'' m not even saying it was one sided. They
simply did not control the game and totally ignored many infractions.
A senior 4-year starting kicker missing a chip shot field goal in a one
possession game is considered above average at BYU. Interesting.

BYU fans that point to officials at every loss make me nauseous...With replay on EVERY PLAY one would think this excuse is broken...cuz it is.
trueblueBYU,What's your excuse for the other 3 in a row...and
the other 8 of 11?
It would have been interesting to see an objective grading of the officiating.
How did BYU ever agree to let officials from Utah's conference officiate
Biased grades aside - this "W" was "Grade A!"GO
UTES!!!!Sincerely hope that Williams will be ok. Rivalry aside,
seeing any player go down with a serious injury is devastating.
So I'm confused. I thought the Virginia game was a fluke. Now it seems
the Texas game was a fluke. . We did some good things. But when we're
playing UT, good isn't good enough. The new hurry up offense doesn't
seem to really rattle defenses or get us points when we need them. Defenses
will key on our running and not expect consistent passing. Too many balls
thrown too high - or not caught, if catchable. Hill did have a few nice series,
some surprises that worked. But we still have to play Boise and Wisconsin and
Notre Dame. Sure, I sound pessimistic - and I'm as disappointed as "Oh
My Heck"! I expect more from the offensive coaching...the line sure
didn't protect Hill that much. And some of the play calling? I think we
have believed too much in the hype, the hope, the hurry up! Let's get real
- and sure, we can salvage the season...but it was UTAH, guys, UTAH - and
I've got Utah in-laws! It's not right!
I am praying for good news from Utah Valley hospital. I hope we all can see
Jamaal Williams back at full strength on the football field and that he can live
up to the huge potential he has.
See ya, wouldn't want to be ya. May the man be with you until we meet again
to hunt some more cougars in 2016.
Apparently duckhunter and all other detractors speak truth through silence.
Where is all the talk? See you in 3 years! So sorry you backed a sinking ship.
Wwookie,In that case, the Cougars should get an 'A'. The Utes
will take the W.
I said after the Tex win that BYU fans shouldn't go crazy. I said that
teams would stack the middle and force BYU to throw. (How weird does it seem to
say that) And I said, if they stopped the run we were in trouble. Hlll is fast,
he is gritty, he is Bronco's kind of player...but HE CAN NOT THROW THE BALL
. And all of his die hard supporters are going to talk about how the recievers
dropped passes. He was something like 18 for 48. THat should be good enough to
get the vary last place out of all FBS schools for passing efficiency. (He was
next to last after the TEX game. BYU can not move the ball in the red zone.
Special teams continue to cost the Cougs big time. Penalty took away a TD.
Missed FG. When you offense is anemic you can't miss those opportunites.
Going to be a 6-6 season...maybe. And someone else has got to call plays in the
red zone. We put in a special rugby play for the Utah game...duh...cost us six.
Anae must go!
Utah didn't really stack the box either so no, I don't think he
watched the game.
wwookie:That's some good consolation for you--Utah's third
down conversions in the second half. Be proud.
"Utah didn't convert a single third down in the second half. Did the
author not watch the game?"Yeah, he watched it. He was just too
busy watching BYU lose to notice that stat.
A lot of shenanigans by the BYU receiver on the last play of the game. He
pulled the Utah defender down trying to deceive the officials to get a pass
interference call. Honor code violation pure and simple...Congratulations Utah
on a good road win in a hostile environment.
Hill is the best rusher on the team. They should have called his number more
often in the red zone because he sure as heck couldn't pass it in....
What's the difference between Hill's performance and Reily
Nelson's?It's hard to imagine a major college program
having QBs for two years whose passing skills barely meet intramural levels. So, who is going to throw in the towel first: the defense who figures
that the offense can't hold up it's end of the bargain, or the offense
which concludes that the other team's defense doesn't have to worry
about any real possibility of a pass completion?
In state HS juniors and seniors,Utes or cougars? The choice is
obvious.Good job Utes! Onward and Upward to the PAC12 schedule!
"...(BYU's) play calling in the red zone was questionable at
best"Understatement of the year. That was the game in
a nutshell. We really have no passing scheme. Very one dimensional.
I sense frustration from the receivers, but they are part of the problem.Utah's defense played great, no doubt, but we also got out
But wait! The Cougars achieved 443 yards of total offense to the Utes' 402,
which, according to Cougs fans, means that they really ARE the better team
(despite the turnover differential, efficiency, and final score)! Phew, all is
right in the world!
Utah 20 FinalBYU 13Mark it down with a red Sharpie! The
better team won, no doubt!
The only grade that maters is the L we recorded. Again.
Credit where credit is due... Chris B was right.Congrats on the win.
U earned it.
Utah didn't convert a single third down in the second half. Did the author
not watch the game?
