All the pressure, really, is on BYU. "4 in a row," independence,
favorites, at home, new offense, new coaching, etc., etc.,. Then the Hadley
incident has to be a huge distraction. I really don't see one team having
decidedly better talent than the other. This is going to be a tough one for the
Cougs. I can't make a prediction on this game.
Hope Tyler Beck has the game of his life vs. Utah after Hadley's
@Max-was-right,"...ha ha ha ha ha, you really think the utes
have a chance of winning the south? Get a job and get real. 4-8 at very
best."C'mon, dude, is that really necessary? Comments like
that only fuels the Utes fire! And mocking them will only make you look stupid
if they win their conference division. You may think it's far fetched, but
you never know. They may actually be better than what you think and may even
make it to the Rose Bowl as Chris B predicted. I wouldn't count them out
despite the trash talking I'm hearing from some of our not so kind fans.
Here's hoping the Utes loose tomorrow and then go on a tear the rest of
their schedule! I know, I'm bias, but I also don't hate the Utes!Go Cougars! Good luck Utes too after tomorrow!
Rico...Seriously? I have been bad mouthing cougies for 40 years and
love every second of giving and receiving! But I don't have an
ounce of guile for Worf or Ducky or other byu fans! it is so educational that
two sides can see the exact same game so differently due to their bias and
opinions. It shows why the world is like it is.I feel bad
that you see it as hate and divisiveness...it truly isn't for me or from
@ Max-was-rightNaysayers like yourself have been proven wrong time
and time again throughout history. I have no doubt that ten years ago you would
have laughed at the idea of Utah winning a BCS bowl....
From a big time BYU fan for decades and a BYU alum I plead with everybody on
this board to talk with a neighbor who is of the other team's fan based and
do so with respect. Become friends, get over the rivalry. Look past it.
It's a football game! We are all the same deep down. This isn't a way
to live. Please. To borrow from MLK - I have a dream that someday a man will not
be judged by the color of his team's mascot, but by his character. It is
sad that a rivalry between Universities can cause such hurt, division, and anger
between people that really should be good friends. I have many friends and
family that are red. To all those fans that can't get past it on both sides
I plead with you to stop the hatred.
Who am I sir?Cottonwood Heights, UTLooks like an exciting day.
Truly what sports are about.
" crucial Southern Division PAC-12 game."ha ha ha ha ha, you
really think the utes have a chance of winning the south? Get a job and get
real. 4-8 at very best.
Having the rivalry game so early in the year has helped make it less emotional,
then a few years off should help also. Both teams seem to have moved on in
different directions.I think most fans aren't jerks about this
game but there are always some on both sides that really need to go back to
kindergarten and relearn how to act towards others. I've attended both
universities and most people at both are great; my experience is most of the
idiotic fans didn't even go to either school. Most obnoxious are the
self-righteous BYU fan who equates God with football and the vicious Utah fan
who spews hate at BYU because of religion. In spite of the few idiots
I am excited to watch the game, it is almost always exciting to watch!
Personally I can't wait for Saturday. I am so excited. I'm going to
see the new Utah football facility. And eat a meal there also. As for the
pre-events of the football game I am anxious to see how many took advantage of
the 2 for 1 $90 tickets (Half price for the Boise State and Utah game) Also to
see if there are more unsold seats compared to the Texas game (tickets reduced
by 1/3) Seems like the interest of visiting teams for BYU's 3 marquee
games was not what the Y expected. (Don't know how much overpricing played
a part.)Hope the game lives up to expectations! (I love it that
both fan basis really believe their team will win - not just have a chance to
win!)Regarless of the outcome the 11 days from this game will be
insane. A top 15 (10?) team UCLA coming to Rice Eccles for a crucial Southern
Division PAC-12 game. This is the first of 8 conference games including 4 top
25 teams! Hold on! Here we go!
