I never said it should be decriminalized.
@moniker and Ultra Bob if youdecriminalize child porn you would ensure more
demand and more production. Think that through, more children rap... I really
don't understand the misplaced sympathy for adults who like to see children
hurt and tortured. Any decent person would cry instead of enjoying those
images. You may cause more grief by allowing this person to be around their
In the quest to find a better ways to prevent unacceptable behavior I seek to
find alternatives to incarceration. In the case of sex crimes it seems to me
that if you could eliminate a person’s internal sex drive, you would
eliminate to behavior. If that were true we could save a
person’s right to life and liberty and societies investment in his
education and future service. Might even save some grief of the person’s
JWBSince felony exploitation of a minor charges can carry a sentence of 15
years per count, I'm guessing that he will, in fact, exercise his right to
a trial. Is the prospect of 225 years for a no-contact crime Draconian? Perhaps.
But it's much easier for the AGs office to generate an inter-department
search warrant and seize a person's computer than it is to put a child on
the stand to testify and thus, people who commit no-contact crimes end up
getting much worse than child molesters. Also, we don't know what he
looked at or if he ever violated anybody in his occupation. It might be
comforting, for some, to know that there is a moral code among thugs that would
compel them to sexually violate people who have committed no-contact crimes. But
if somebody you love has fallen down a pornography rabbit hole and made some
really bad choices that they would not otherwise be capable of, it's
actually just really heartbreaking.
@gigi_gorgeous Psychiatrists go to med school like regular doctors, then they do
their residency in psychiatry (whereas another doctor might do their residency
in Pediatrics or Gerontology etc). They can attend a DO or an MD school.
Over 10 years ago, the fiscal analyst for the agency over children was caught
with binders at work with similar type of pornography while he was not at
work.It happens in all types of occupations that deal with our youth
that are vulnerable to power and authority. These people can access their
addiction in all forms of media and our military members have access to that
while in many places around the world due to our funding of such activities.
They may not all abuse children but I knew a senior enlisted person that took
his daughter's friend out during a stay-over and that got him to Fort
Leavenworth very quickly. The others non-child abuse people don't take
kindly on the inside of the prison to those kind of people. At least
he got caught and hopefully he will be good and kind enough to admit to his
deeds and cut out a trial. More will come out, now that he has been
publicly acknowledged as being caught.
I am confused as to how this man, a licensed Osteopathic Physician, was also
employed as a Child Psychiatrist....was he schooled in both fields?
First the ER tech at Logan Regional Hospital. Now the child-porn addict at
