Oregon State is a BIG game! Consider this: By the time we play UCLA at home on Oct. 3rd there will have been 9 conference games played. That will give a much clearer picture on strengths/weaknesses of the teams. And if we can defeat Oregon State that means other teams in the conference will have lost 9 conference games. With one exception, we play conference foes for the remaining regular season schedule this year. This is what we have prepared for. This is what we look forward to. This is our opportunity - together we can!

You are right it is not their bowl game, according to KVN it is their "Super Bowl"

Utah's SOS just tanked by playing a weak FCS school. I believe that it is not at 138. Way to go utes. You make us proud!

At least BYU has the guts to play power schools.
(Utah NOT being one of them)

"All of the chest beating for romping on Weber State is dangerous."

You don't need to worry about us, we are not byU. We are not the ones who proclaimed to be in the NC race after one win over an over rated Oklahoma. Look at how the byU "fans" are beating their chests about a win over an extremely over-rated Texas team, while forgetting that their QB can't pass to save his life, and that they lost the week before to a VERY poor Virginia team. Meanwhile, the best player on your team is proclaiming the Utah game your "Superbowl"! No pressure!! And to top that all off - you still don't have any corners!!

In addition, you are underestimating how good USU is. Chucky can run like Hill, maybe better - but be doesn't HAVE to. He is a very accurate passer and will turn your secondary into swiss cheese. He is the best QB we will face all year, IMO. You will find out, and you will pay the price. Then you can go back to calling for Bronco to be fired again!

Go Utes!! Onward and Upward!!

@Ute Buster

Exactly, Utah would never have the guts to play say #2 Oregon and #3 Stanford!

Has utah football really fallen so far to be estatic about a win over Weber State? Really?

@Ute buster:

Which one of these is your definition of "power school":

MTSU
Virginia
Idaho St
Houston
Giorgia Tech
Nevada
UConn
USU
UCF
So Miss
UNLV??

That just covered 66.67 per cent of byU's 2013 and 2014 schedules.

Must be a Utah County thing.

@Tators:

"I guarantee you BYU is not "frantically" preparing for their game with Utah." "I also guarantee you it is NOT their bowl"

KVN - this is our Superbowl

"They've already been invited to one in post-season play"

They've negotiated one, and that is their only hope - IF they qualify.

"And yes, I do remember Utah bucking the odds and beating BYU badly in Provo not so long ago. But that was truly an anomaly. BYU is much better at home and literally win 90% of their games there."

In the last 20 years, the game has been played in Provo 10 times, with Utah holding a winning record of 7-3. So, a Utah win is not an "anomaly". A win by Utah is not "bucking the odds". byU does not "literally" beat Utah 90% of the time in Provo.

"the outcome will be different due to the game being played in Provo."

That's what they say EVERY two years. In order for your words to be credible, they have to be backed by facts, which they currently aren't.

The voice of reason!

I think that Chucky is the best QB in that state, by FAR! May be the best player in the state. He is fun to watch, except when Utah is playing against him. I'm glad we don't have to face him again. byU is in for a long day when they meet Checky and Co in Logan. It's too bad Hoffman isn't an Aggie or a Ute - all that national acclaim with nobody on the team who can get him the ball.

Go Utes!! Go Ags!!

After watching the Utah against the Aggies games that Utah State could easily beat Utah if they were to play with neutral referees!

"Nobody will ever expect "pass heavy" play with Hill at QB."

Taysom Hill completed 166 of 258 passes (64.3 percent) and threw for 2,269 yards and 18 touchdowns as a senior in high school.

Lots of naysayers are in for a surprise when Taysom finds his groove.

How is that an "anomaly"? Not only did Utah beat BYU at LES in 2011 54-10 but also whupped BYU in 2008 (48-24), and 2004 (52-24). The last time BYU beat Utah by more than a TD was in 1996 (37-17). Seems to me that Utah destroys BYU, but the other games are close, and don't go back to the '80s, that would be truly pathetic. Do some research, I'm trying to help you (Tators) think reasonably.

Your point would have some credibility had he recently earned them....Nobody respctable has offered even one, single word of encouragement in pointing to anything whatsoever to indicate improvement was on the horizon....On the contary, which s/b concerning to you people knowing this rushing performance will hardly he the norm and had much more to do w/what UT failed to do than anything remarkable byu did.

At some point, their must pose some sort of threat to pass, if they hope to achieve anything even remotely reflecting consistency/success.

@downunder:

Would you consider Big XII referees as neutral? You should, because that's where the refs were from. Nice try.

Go Utes!
