And what is with the ugly poles that hold up the overhead wires for the street
car that will operate in this corridor? I hope this is not the finished
product. As long as UTA is spending the money why did they not purchase a
decorative pole like the ones used along the 400 South Trax line? If I lived in
this area I would be upset with these ugly power poles.
So there is a bus (the number 21) that runs up and down the same corridor on
2100 South, services the Trax station along with points west and east and the
speed limit there is 40 mph. The street car is going to speed along at 25 mph.
This is what UTA calls progress?
A TIGER Grant. Isn't that Obama's stimulus? Shovel-ready, jobs created
or saved, GREEN corridor, la-de-dah.I can walk that two miles in 30
minutes. What's the fare? Don't know yet.Where are the
cars? Not available yet. This sounds like Obamacare on wheels. But
hey, $37 million of federal money is bringing the bacon home, right?Wait.
Isn't the federal government broke?
Two thumbs up! I commend the visionary leadership over the decades that brought
this, Trax and Frontrunner to Utah. They dramatically enhance the quality of
life here. This is a truly great system.
