Nuff said about the fortunate bounce of the ball. Time to move on to the next game. Utah was lucky to win. Probably would have lost at Logan.

Hope the team has moved beyond Thursday nite. If the losses start and continue, the comment 'but we beat USU' will mean little.

We are the best in the state like I said.

After watching byu I am even less worried than I was before, which was almost not at all

Go utes!

8-4 season guaranteed.

Why so sour, sherlock? Enjoy the great game and the outstanding win against a worthy opponent. The onside kick was a gutsy call and brilliantly executed by a player who had never kicked in an organized football game in his life! You can't make this stuff up. As far as your "probably would have lost in Logan," that's pure conjecture and totally a non-issue. BYU fans are good at making statements like that all the time. Reality is, Utah won. This is even more significant, considering the embarrassing effort made by BYU today.

Enjoy the moment, which, for Utah fans, is pretty sweet right now.

I don't care what anybody says. Kyle whittingham is a great football coach, easily the best in the state, and he has been since the day he was made the head coach (though Andersen definitely won that honor last season). Utah should have a better than predicted year. I say they go at least 7-5 this year. THEY CAN ACTUALLY THROW THE BALL FOR ONCE!

Pure conjecture? Love that insertion. You're right, BYU fans are great at making statements like that. Going down that road never ends. The flip side could be brought up that Utah would have won last year if the game was in RES. It was an overtime game with a shady PI call that aided in USU's victory in Logan.

I was proud of Utah's play Thursday night. The game could have gone either way. Chuckie Keeton is amazing. USU will not be a threat once Keeton graduates. Utah is the best team in the state and their record against BYU over the lat 20 years proves it.

Kyle was one game up on Bronco until the PAC/Indy shift where BYU started playing 5 YMCA teams a year and pumped up the better record over Utah who would play one patsy and the rest legit opponents. I know Colorado and WSU are weak but they have better athletes than Idaho, Idaho State, New Mexico State, Hawaii, Tulsa, and Middle Tennessee State ect...

Virginia is no better than Washington State. The PAC 12 is head and shoulders above the ACC where Virginia is a bottom feeder each year.

Why do people call Utah's onside kick gutsy?
It is if you're desperate and need the ball towards the end of a game.
Whit and Hill knew from game film that USU set up 15 yds back from the kick off. They also knew from the past two kicks that the FOUR USU front men on the line would immediately turn to start running back to block as the kicker approached the ball.
Hill's kick off team practiced that play. Its like practicing any other offense or defensive play, when you want to use it and calculate that the odds are in your favor, you run it.

Good coaching, brilliant call, great timing and excellent execution.

Football is full of possibilities. Onside kicks, fake punts, hook and ladder and the seldom used fumblerooski!

These are plays that are practiced and are in all coaches toolboxes!

Great coaches pull them out at great times and they work to turn momentum around! Other coaches run "21 dive" and "32 dives"...and throw and risk interceptions late in the game, because of there boring scheme.

Fans in the great state of Utsh saw both styles this weekend! Some fans will call those seldom called plays "tricks or magical"...but really it is available to all and used to perfection by the better coaches!
