Utes win!

Aggies lose!

I was right

"Utah athletic director Chris Hill acknowledged that it makes it hard to figure out how to balance playing BYU, USU and do the things the Utes want to do with other scheduling."

Dr. Hill, allow me to help you with this decision...dump byu and schedule USU home and home indefinitely. Use the spot vacated by byu to schedule games in Texas.

My guess is that the PAC 12 will move to 8 conference games before too long and this will open up the opportunity for more in state games. However there are still some challenges in the schedule as Utah will always want to play 6 (or possibly 7) home games each year.

@Myperspective,

No, schedule usu 2 for 1. And dump byu. Usu is a WAC program. Pac 12 programs don't go home and home with WAC programs. We are better and can make demands they can't make.

They want to play with the big boys. But we can set the terms.

2 for 1. And they'll take it.

Fair enough. Just get USU scheduled and dump byu.

Where are the aggie fan's? Licking their wounds after this one.

Not trying to bag my fellow fans, but I'm a little appalled at the ability to brag after this game. We were SEVERELY out coached and had no business winning this game

The truth is, the Utes don't have the guts to play in Logan anymore, so they'll hide behind the skirts of their PAC 12 "eliteness", pretending that they're too good to play the Aggies on their home turf.

@UteinIdaho
Be proud by the fact the Utes had the heart and ability to come back and win. Out coached or not, the truth is that both teams deserved to win the game. The players on both sides played very hard til the end.

@arrogant chickens
Not true at all. You must be involved in contract negotiations for each school? Try again.

Chris B,
Yes Utah won the game but by only 4 at home against a MWC foe!!! The rest of the PAC 12 is wishing the could move up their games to take advantage of a weak Utah team!!! Only 6 points in the second half is not going to win you many games in the PAC 12!!! I am really looking forward to our games with Utah and USU!!! Congrats on the win and good luck the rest of the season!!!

Go Cougs!!!

P.S. Since you were there how many times did the MUSS rush the field?

USU doesn't do 2 for 1's with Utah.... and Fresno State?

With that tiny little stadium they have on the hill, the Utes are in no position to ask for a 2-for-1 from any FBS team.

As long as the Utes continue to schedule games against Big Sky teams and teams like Fresno State, Utah's claims of not being able to work Utah State or BYU into their schedule are not credible.

Until we see Utah at Utah State on future schedules, your denial that the Utes don't have the guts to play in Logan anymore is nothing but a lot of talk; with no walk.

I'm not sure what you call a "tiny little stadium" has to do with anything but your comment
"...Utah's claims of not being able to work Utah State or BYU into their schedule are not credible" is exactly the point. The Utes should dump byu and schedule USU.

@killarney

I'm not the one yapping. Just pointing out there's nothing to back up the claim because no one on this board is in the negotiations. It's all easier to say something should happen (and it will at some point), but there's variables no one here knows. Guts to travel 2 hours north has nothing to do with it. Anything else?

Reno Cougs Fan 68,

The Utes had a total of 14 points at the half. They ended the game with 30 points. So 30 minus 14 is 16 if my math is correct, and it always is. So that is 10 points more than 6 in the 2nd half you siad that we got. Depending on the game, I would take 14-24 points each half. That will help you win most of your games you play. If we score 30 against yBu, we should win the game. I think we will score more than 30 though vs the Team Down South. While our DB's are not that great, with your injuries and lack of speed at DB and safety, Travis Wilson will eat Bronco's D alive.

Agree, where is the blitz and stunts to pressure Chuckie?

Need a new DC right away. Whit, stop hiring graduate players. Its PAC-12 you need TOP notch!

Newsflash--- I think the game was played on Thurs. not Friday.
For being a first game and with both teams having a lot of change and questions, I was quite impressed. Sure there were problems, but overall a decent showing. I really saw the difference as being Whitt's gutsy onside call-- totally unexpected at that point in the game-- and Chuckie cramping up at such a critical time. I really believe he would have come away from that drive with a TD instead of a FG. Those are all part of the game, however. This BYU fan is nervous about facing these two teams. Mainly because we have a lot of questions and uncertainty of our own. Maybe I'll feel better after seeing them play or maybe I'll feel worse. Thrilled to see the overall play in the state being raised. Any in-state wins will be good. Go Coug's!!

As a BYU fan I feel much more confident now in the game against the Utes than I am against the Aggies. Utah gets credit for the win. Utah State gets credit for being the more difficult team for BYU to play. Utah State showed enough moxie that I expect they will take down Boise this year, yet not enough to see an onside kick coming. Special Teams has now cost Keaton from being able to win any season opener. Utah State was by far the more talented team.

I have to say that last night's win was likely the best win so far of the Utes PAC12 era. They beat a team that will go bowling and should win a conference title this year. They completed a surprising comeback. Wilson is undefeated 3-0 as a starter and WILL beat Weber State next week. He should be pretty confident facing Oregon State. Perhaps Utah's offense will make up for the holes in defense and the Utes will win a few PAC games and get bowl eligible. Just remember that USU was one of the games counted as a likely win in most 5-7 predictions. Good game Utes.
