Best linebacker in the nation playing for the best team in the state. has all the makings for a great season. I think KVN has a bone to pick with Utah so I would hate to be the Utah QB this year. I hope Utah is deep at QB because I see the starter going out in the first quarter of the Utah/BYU game, if he last even that long.

The U QB looked at least decent against USU. I hate to say it, but in my opinion at least, he outperformed Chuckie Keeton. The Utes were much more potent than I thought they would be. I do not know if this comes down to USU being worse than expected, or the Utes being better. But, let's hope that BYU's run defense is better than USU's was tonight in RES. KVN laying sown some big tackles could be nice. Everyone on D is really going to need to show up.

I’m a huge Ute fan and grad but love both Van Noy and Hoffman. Both are great players. I would love to have both at Utah. I expect great seasons from both. I’m always a fan of great young men and players even when they play for the big rival. Good luck this year except for September 21st. Go Utes!

KVN is clearly the best football player in the state.

Good luck at Virginia tomorrow!

Go Cougars!

It will be interesting to see how Van Noy performs against overall higher-level competition this year. Don't forget that his highlight-reel performance against San Diego State was against...San Diego State.

Big J:
Thanks for the classy words. I feel the same way about young men playing for Utah. I'm a huge Trevor Reilly fan because he's a great player but an even better man, and father/husband. If only all athletes could set the kind of example he does. Jake Murphy's the same way.

I like that Mendenhall pushes KVN to be more. Those of us that have watched him close over the years can see that he hasn't even reached his full potential. Then again, the ceiling on this guy is very high.

@carolinacoug - He was also great against Notre Dame, Boise, Utah, and everyone else BYU played He's the real deal. Hope he stays healthy.

KVN is 0-3 vs the Utes in his career! Some might say his "bone to pick" has no meat on it...
