Uteanaonymous,

Yes, and our FIRST year we WERE just a field goal away from the Pac 12 title game!

LOL

I was right.

We were INCHES away!

LOVE the trollers!

Can't wait for Thursday! Then it all can be played out on the field instead of on Utah stories. But, while I'm being entertained:

@Funny/witty screen name - "2 of the last 3 byu/utah games have been inches"

2 of the last three years? One of those years was a blocked field goal. Your Payne brought us joy! If you count blocked field goals, then Utah should get to count the USC game too, AT USC. A made field goal there gives Utah a huge win. But, it doesn't matter, does it. Utah lost that game, just like byU lost three straight (including the infamous 54-10 with free turnovers). But, byU "fans" will never give credit to Utah for any of the three straight wins, or 4 of 5, or 8 of 11, or 13 of 20 ..... I wonder what the excuse will be from little brother down south when Utah goes four straight on 9/21?

Go Utes!! Onward and Upward!!

@Cougsndawgs

So you are saying we can't compete with ASU because they have dominated us head-to-head but head-to-head doesn't count against BYU and USU?

* We "should win" USU considering it's @RES and our 5-7 team barley lost with a D2 QB on the road last year.

* We "should win" BYU considering we have no problem competing against BYU.

* The ASU game is a "toss up" because I'm expecting an Elite 11 QB to play better than a D2 QB the last time these two teams met at RES:

"Arizona State was forcing turnovers so quickly in the second half, trainers didn't even have time to get the blood off Brock Osweiler's jersey...Three Utah turnovers on consecutive possessions late in the third quarter and beginning of the fourth helped turn a close game into 35-14 victory for No. 22 Arizona State."

I watched the PAC 12 network over the week end since there wasn't anything else on. They replayed only meaningful games, in other words, non of them featured Utah. In the player profiles during game breaks there were no Utah profiles in the games I watched. Yep, the PAC 12 really is glad Utah joined. Just gives the big boys one more game to beat up on someone.

@scenic view:

We'd much prefer a "beat down" (a last-second blocked field goal away from beating SC on their field), to a LES triumph over the lowly Idaho State Vandals ANY DAY!!! Seriously, you shouldn't even be proud of your TDS team with wins against such laughable opponents!

TDS campus banter: "Did you see the game last night?" "What game, Real Salt Lake?" "No, our beat down of the mighty Vandals!" "Seriously?! I thought that was just a JV game!" (Our only laughable game is September 7th! And believe me, I'll be the first to stand and applaud IF Weber State successfully crosses the 50 yard line!) And to all TDS fans - cease and desist all the "We're going to win a national championship this year!" gibberish, let alone "Tradition, Spirit, Honor" hokey jersey monikers, when getting past Virginia (a horrible team) should be priority #1! GO UTES

But Utah is still very important to YOU, that is what is most important. We just have to make sure that all our Utah County followers are happy! I mean, what would Utah do without your support and your attention? We would be devastated!

Thanks for proving your loyalty to the Ute program by posting on a Utah story. We'll make sure you get your free turnovers once again this year! We aim to please!

Go Utes!! Onward and Upward!!

Adding Utah, and Colorado isn't improving the conference, but does add an extra wins for teams qualifying for bowl games.

Guess that could be an improvement.

Nope! You were a FG away from a tying a game that U would have lost in OT.

You had already burned your "one time" the week before when you barely squeaked past lowly Washington State by a FG in OT.

christy is obviously living under the delusion that MISSING a potentially game-tying FG is the same as winning a game.

Not only did USC BLOCK Utah's futile last second FG try, the Trojans returned it for a touchdown to win going away 23-14.

Remind us against how many AP Top 25 teams you beat last season...

sorry, barely squeaking past Bottom 25 11-loss Colorado 42-35 in the annual "pillow fight in the Rockies", doesn't count.

Chris, I am going to have to call you out on this one. You should try to remember your predictions from last year and the year before where you said Utah would win the south and play for the conference championship. Try to be honest with yourself and with the rest of us fans. You give us a black eye and are not a good ambassador of the Utes.

-----------

The same as you did in 1984.

To all coug fans, this mediocre team you speak of is the same team that has dominated you over the last decade. Before you come back with how competitive things have been, save it. The fact is, the game is either close or it is a Utah blowout.

“big-time football at its finest.”

No - it's more like "body-bag football at its finest." Utah plays games that it has no chance of winning for money.
