    First, there is a "BYU somewhere else"...it's three miles south of you in Rexburg.

    Second, believe it or not, returned missionaries are allowed to attend schools besides BYU. They can even attend universities not owned by the LDS Church.

    The question that the article did not address is "have the admission standards been lowered officially or unofficially to minimize the loss of students attending these universities." As a graduate of three Utah based universities (BYU, U of U. USU), I want to know.

    Will those who are serving missions at age 18 or 19 have space available when they return? Will there be a BYU - somewhere else?

    I'm curious as to the demographics of the completion rate problem, particularly as it relates to gender.
