Hurricane's problem with Juan Diego last year was that they got too
@Aggie238 nobody from hurricane got cocky lol, Juan Diego is just
a better team, in fact if it weren't for their heartbreaking losses to SF
and Dixie 2 years in a row, I'd have them listed as 5 time consecutive
champs. you can't determine how cocky a team is unless you've
actually talked with the players. was their 20+ win streak too cocky for you?
if you didn't know their QB was injured 2 weeks prior, you really think
they were talking themselves up against an elite team as Juan Diego?
I think their problem was having games handed to them. When they played Dixie,
Dixie played alot better, and it showed, but the refs handed it over to
Hurricane. The refs helped them get through a tough game, so when another tough
game came around ( Desert Hills and Juan Diego) they didnt know how to play with
the big boys
@tlar22why does everybody seem to ignore all the calls that were
given to Dixie at that game??? the game was FAR from one sided, both teams
had questionable calls, but to say hurricane was handed that game is just petty
and disrespectful to the hard work and energy those boys brought out onto the
field. and why did you compare DH to JD? not like DHills walked
all over Hurricane, last I checked a 3 OT game in which Hurricane didn't
have a starting QB due to injury wouldn't be considered dominating. yeah in
the end the only thing that matters is the score at the end, but please, making
excuses like their games were handed to them because of a questionable pass
interference call in a Dixie game is just childish.
Where do these guys come from??? Why would Hurricane be cocky going in to a game
with a team that has beat them for 3 straight championships...that's just
stupid. Why would you say Hurricane didn't know how to play
with the big boys...they have played for the state championship 4 of the last 5
years ya know, I would say they ARE one of the big boys.
I live in St. George and I can tell you that most people in St. George know that
Hurricane played better and beat Dixie. Most people here know that if the
starting qb would not have gotten hurt then Hurricane would have probably taken
state again. I would like to see how far Dixie would have gotten without their
own qb. Hurricane or Desert Hill's "go Thunder" junior varsity
teams could have beaten Dixie's varsity if they didn't have their good
qb. Nobody can disagree with that. Good luck to Southern Utah teams this year.
Big Momma, What color is the sky in your world?
red rocks,Are you telling us that Dixie would have taken state without
their qb last year? Hurricane had beaten everybody until their qb got hurt. I
was in the stands when DH beat Hurricane and it was after the qb got hurt. My
sky is full of Thunder. Is it dark in that box?
Big MommaNo I am not saying Dixie would have taken state without
their QB. Your comment about Dixie not beating JV teams without the QB. Teams
can have the greatest QB in the world but in the end Football is the ultimate
team sport it takes 11 guys doing their individual job to win. I
apologize for being mean about it but if you have never played the game and only
watch. You would understand the game that requires 11 people to do their job.
@red rockssounds like someone is bitter against their team not
beating hurricane... again....
@red rocksI am a rotund woman who has never played. I do understand if
your starting qb gets hurt it makes it unlikely you are going to take state.
@ irrelevantHow do you read anything about Hurricane into my
comment? Read all of the comment. That will help greatly. It will make your
comments relevant and not irrelevant. I would also suggest that you are the one
who is quite bitter after the bashing you took from JD and then have to winess
Dixie Beating JD the next week.
Man, you southerners are good drama! Too funny! Keep it up, I miss Jerry
who really cares about last season guys. if you think about it, both dhills and
pine view just barely fell short against spanish fork. anybody really could
have taken state last year, because everybody had enough talent. teams have
bad games and teams have good games. juan diego could of had a bad game, or
dixie could of had a good one, perhaps they both played bad, who cares.
let's just see what next season brings. besides nothing is more exciting
than some 3AA south football every week.Go tigers, lets put that new
fullback of ours into battle.
