The NBA player motto in full effect here: "Anywhere but Utah!"

@BraveSirRobin - He would have come back but we didn't even go after him. Your comment on this article is off point. Good luck to you Mo.

For that amount of money, Williams would have been a good signing for the JAZZ. It looks we're going to get beat by lots of teams this year who have signed our former players.

I would have liked to have seen Mo come back for a couple of years . He would have been good as a Team leader and tutor for the newbies. For three mil I don't know why we didn't keep him.

I think signing Mo for another year would have been good but let's face it troops, the Jazz are basically wiping the slate and starting over. We will be really, really young this year but I think it's going to be a blast watching this team grow. Have patience and let the Jazz brass see how their ideas will play out. I haven't been as excited for a season to begin as much as this season since I don't know when.

Typical of the Portland Trailblazers. They have been eating our table scraps for years. Would Wesley Matthews even be playing in the NBA if it wasn't for the Jazz discovering him? Portland just leeches off the Jazz and it hasn't even gotten them into the playoffs since signing Matthews.

I think there would have been too much uneasyness if he would have re-signed. Blazers now have a whole handfull of guards. Why??

Yeah, I guess that is why Mo came back for a second stint. If Utah pursued Mo, he would be back. Good luck to Mo. The Jazz and Mo are just going in different directions. The Jazz are in rebuilding mode and Mo is a shoot first pg that is 30 years old. He is a good player to have and Portland upgraded their roster by signing him.

Unless you're a huge market team and you can afford to just go after big-name free agents left and right, these types of painful rebuildings are going to happen. Now it's Utah's turn. But with KOC gone, I have a lot more confidence it can be successful.

Meanwhile, Portland has clearly demonstrated a commitment to improving its depth this offseason and this is just another example. Maybe the Blazers can finally make it back to the playoffs, even if it is just as a 7-8 seed.

it will be a blast watching them what? LOSE they will be a preety sorry team. for what? they could have signed good players for the same price they payed to get sorry players. they get a maby draft pick and will be in the same posisition next year as they was this year. money to spend on who? by then favors will be ready to bolt to a good team that spent their money on good players not washed up players . then gordon will be ready to go . on and on it goes. just like the last 7 years i have been watching them. all the players they let go would most defenitly kick the jazz team they have now butt. i would love to watch a team of boz millsap kirlinko matthews deron . playing against favors kanter gordon burk and burks. i wonder who would win? yea it will be a blast watching them

no one is expecting them to win anyway...the funny thing is...even if we signed Al jeff...grabbed iggy and probably re-signed mo williams and get Monta Ellis or some other player let's say Josh Smith....we would be above cap....and we would be nothing more than a 6-8th seeded team...with no legit shot at winning a title...i guess most fans wants a team that's in the playoffs for a long time...but never really have a chance to win it...this is just a start of a plan...and we could see numerous losing seasons...heck we even suited washed up former players and almost barely made the playoffs...remember that time? Gugliotta...Donyell Marshall...Danny Manning...Jon Starks?....i think everyone was accustomed to continuity...rather than rebuilding...my opinion...even if we are dead last for the next 10 years...i won't turn my back on this team...they given me so much when i was a kid...those Stockton and Malone years....

Always invest in quality and this year the Jazz did not and in some sort of plan they bought with their extra 23 million washed up players who will be gone next season so they can again promote their youth program and supposedly have a pocket full of cash for free agents.

However the free agents available next year are too expensive to insert into a youth program in Utah.

It is the hope of the logical that the youth movement in Utah is actually a run at Andrew Wiggins in next years draft. However instead of planning to lose which is Utahs plan this year the Suns have made trades and have positioned themselves already for 3 first round draft picks which seems to have a higher percentage of success than just losing for a season.

I think the fans would have enjoyed a team with Gasol or Josh smith or even Bynum which would have given the team a shot which it now does not have.

Sorry I cannot look forward to tanking for 2-4 seasons while our team grows up.

@Doug10

really? which Gasol are you referring to who is a free agent right now?...NONE....Josh Smith? really? yeah he is a stat sheet stuffer...but where did he took Atlanta again?...nowhere...Bynum?...really Andrew Bynum? Damaged commodity would hasnt played a year and with brittle knees?....i'd rather have AK than Bynum...at least i know AK would fight for the ball...you need to know your players aside from their names....you should know their game...and what they bring in the table....yeah...the time Bynum was in LA he was good...but...he isnt that good...can he be a superstar? we don't know...since he is often injured...Bynum with Al Jeff...would still create nightmares on D...if we get Bynum and Josh Smith...we would have inconsistent shooting/scoring from Josh Smith...who isnt a lock down defender...but a decent rotation help defender....we are still not in it to contend...just a middle of the pack...like we have always been...
