We will have an 8-4 season and be in the hunt for the South Crown/Rose bowl within last 2 games of the season.

You can mark that down. I think because of the south being so talented across the board with the exception of Colorado, I could see anyone but the buffs representing the South.

Go Utes!

How does a team loaded with 4 and 5 star recruits not make it to a bowl game?

Mark that down.

I don't share Chris' optimism. We rode Jordan Wynn's bum shoulder all the way to the bloody end, and now we are paying the price. I think we will pay the price for one more year before making a bit of noise in 2014.

@Chris B,

Great prediction, Mr/Mrs. B! I hope you're right or do even better, just as long as Utah loose the only game I hope they loose, then they can go tear up their division and contend for the Rose. That would be sweet! I can't bear the thought of KVN and his senior mates to leave BYU 0-4 against the Utes! It's time to turn the tables and stop the mocking from your side. Will that ever stop regardless of the outcome in Sept? I'm wondering!

Go Cougars! And good luck to the Utes and Aggies too!

I agree. I think this year will be tough, but I think we will start to see some positive changes this year. I predict a 6-6 season and a bowl appearance. 2014 is the year that Ute fans should expect Utah to challenge for the PAC-12 South leadership.

Ute fans need to be patient this year, since the team is still young and the addition of Dennis Erickson, while a positive change, is yet another new offensive system. Stability, especially on offense, takes several seasons.

Go Utes!

Good luck and good hunting to the Utes this year!!! I hope you have a great season and win every game but the one with TDS in Sept.

Go Cougs!!!

I like the Utes O line and WRs. The RBs look like a deep and versatile group, but I have doubts that one will rise to greatness. As for Wilson at QB? All I can do is cross my fingers and hope he surprises me. Erickson will need to have a huge impact on Wilson in order for the sophomore to produce in the tough PAC.

The Ute defense has a lot of turnover. Will the linebackers be relevant? Blechen needs to stay healthy and regain his fire, while the unknowns in the secondary come together. The defensive line is a new one, but I am confident there.

as per Lya Wodraska: Andre Lewis (WR) is in the pit with a hamstring injury.

I'm not completely sold on Travis Wilson yet, but I'm happy that the Utes aren't wasting time with a majority of the reps going to an injured QB. That is something they haven't done for a few years now.

I'm also more confident in our back QB position this year compared to the last few. Even though they are young and don't have experience, I think they are more talented than what we had the last two seasons.

The key will be the play of our O-line. Hopefully they can give Wilson time to get rid of the ball. I'm not sure who our main RB will be, it could be a situation of where we see a couple guys share the carries.
There are a lot of unknowns with the team this year as we lost a lot of starters but hopefully they can come together fast and and improve upon last years effort.

Go Utes!

4-8 / no bowl / new coach / not all bad.
