NealT nailed it. Never ever allow them to cave in and legalize drugs. Also,
isn't it about time Jason Thomas thought about maybe opening a doughnut
shop and get out of law enforcement?
From what I've previously read, people under the influence of drugs are
oftentimes more resilient to tasers and stun guns. It would make more sense to
always have 2 officers involved with anyone who is high on drugs and especially
when also known to be paranoid. After this incident and the other one mentioned
in SLC several years ago when an officer was killed, perhaps that will become a
mandatory requirement. Wrongful drug use has literally become a huge
scourge on our society. It ruins lives of individuals and families. Plus, it
costs tens of billions of dollars a year to deal with treatments and
incarcerations... on top of the war on drug costs.
This is why Assault on a Police Officer should be at least a 3rd degree felony.
They should charge this guy with attempted murder.
One more reason to legalize drugs. Not.
