Please don't start asking about the pilots. Airlines will quickly figure out how to charge a 'pilot experience levy' to go along with that carry on bag fee and $6.50 beer.

People: There are 60K domestic flights a day. There is an accident every 3 to 4 years. Do the math! I can almost promise you that you're going to die another way.

I saw reported on KTVU that the names of the four pilots were: Captain Sum Ting Wong, Wi Tu Lo, Ho Lee ---, and Bang Ding Ow.

I think that pretty much sums up the pilots.

Just an FYI I heard that story about the pilots names being Sum Ting Wong, Wi Tu Lo, Ho Lee (bleep), and Bang Ding Ow. I saw it on a real newscast in California where the newscaster claimed the names had been verified. Turns out it was just a big old hoax. I was suspicious because it was just too good to be true. My daughter found a retraction by the news station. Sorry if I have disappointed anyone. It would have been really funny if it was true.

While I disagree with the idea of extreme checking, we should be increasing regulations and background checks of pilots. How that is to be done is left for time and debate to decide, but it will not hurt to have that in place.

Don't start with the overreaction arguments. Three teenagers would be alive today if this type of thing had been in place.

Using the NRA gun logic, more tests, regulations, and background checks won't effect anything. Bad pilots will still fly.
