Hauling water to wild Horses? Um I guess we can throw out survival of the fittest. Maybe we should haul water to the deer, elk, and buffalo. In the the winter we should haul out dead chickens for the bobcats too! Maybe we should hire veterinarians to patch up wounded deer. Lets not call them "wild" horses any more sense the BLM likes to play God and interfere with the process of natural selection. Not only are our tax dollars paying for people to haul water to horses but we also still pay people to kill coyotes. I guess the Coyote is the lowest form of creature ever created but continues to evolve into the most adaptive creature on planet earth! The wild horse can't further evolve because the BLM can't leave them be!

Waste of taxpayer money. If private funding is secured, by all means. But taxpayer money?...no way!

Couldn't agree more with the first two comments. Not only are we wasting money on this water nonsense but even more money is being spent on the care and feeding of those horses that have been rounded are kept in corrals for who knows how long. Why do our government employees always cave into the animal lovers instead of caring about the taxpayer who is footing the bills? And finally, with so many children dying from malnutrition and disease in refugee camps in Africa why doesn't their welfare come ahead of these horses? I guess common sense is dead.

Clearly the commenters are just choosing to cherry pick isolated bits of trivia that reinforce their own ideas when the fact is that hauling water to horses would not be needed if welfare ranchers with range leases did not fence around natural water and fence horses out of best range (in violation of federal law).
And clearly the an overwhelming majority of Americans want to presearce Americas wil horses, ranchers with range leases lease American public land far below the market value of that range, which is leased to people that would never qualify for welfare but yet who are allowed to lease american pulbic land for less than the adminstrative costs to the taxpayers of administering those leases.
The fact is that since the enactment of the wildhorseandburro act was passed in '71 90 % of the horses on the range have been removed and replaced with privately owned cattle doing untold ecological damage....

Finally, BLM is doing someyhing besides pandering to the Cattlemen and the gas and mining corporations. Finally, not kissing up to the Billionaires. I'd like to see them carrying buckets of water to the horses. They've been killing them long enough.
