I like the picture of a young girl with the sign "a person's a person
no matter how small". So very true and thanks to Texas legislature for
helping to establish laws that respect those who cannot protect themselves along
with better protecting the health of the mothers.
You'd think the efforts of everyone who so wants 'to protect
life' would include making pre emptive birth control available as widely as
possible to all.
This law protects neither life nor the health of women. Its only effect will be
to send desperate women to back-alley butchers, just like before Roe v Wade was
decided. If Texas legislators REALLY wanted to reduce the number of abortions
in the state, they would have promoted, and made readily and inexpensively
available, all forms of birth control together with comprehensive sex education
for women of all ages. They didn't, and that is sad.
