People flock to the warm climates of Arizona, Nevada and California then pirate
our water to make their utopia possible.
We have been able to extrapolate Colorado RIver Basin Flows far past one hundred
years ago using whats called dendrochronolgy. This technique was pioneered in
the 1950's at University of Arizona and in wide use today. To suggest that
climates change as absorb!?, Some might not understand what the word, climate
means, which, in fact is a range of variations that occurs in a given area . But
to ridicule and dismiss the abundant FACTS that the Earths atmospheric
composition is under accelerated change seems more and more the meager mumbles
of political narcissists. Had to say it.But I love the dialog that this
one rivers political delineations are also hurdles for the new west. We must act
as a bio-region all bound to the sacred waters of the Colorado that sustain us.
Our agriculture, our cities, energy and most importantly, the rivers themselves.
Perhaps we should ask ourselves: Should we continue to cease the day? Or cease
the future. Carpe Mañana. This is our river.
I can assure the readers that measurements of the Colorado River a hundred years
ago basically did not exist and nobody knows what real flows were from 1850 to
1930. Climate change is a fraud and exists only in computer models--not in real
time measurements. Weather cycles, always has, river flows cycle too. To talk
about climate change as some kind of real issue is absurd. Environmentalists and
the Obama gang of liars have a case of extreme myopia. And to believe
for one minute that Obama's killing of coal and nuclear power plants as
some supposed solution to water problems is idiotic. The little Marxist wannabe
dictator is going to drive us all back to the stone age.
We maintain lawns and sometimes streets or sidewalks with water and polluting
fertilizers while demanding that Las Vegas conserve water. "Slow the
flow" is nice, but it's past time for Utah to become serious about
conserving our water resources.
Any group calling themselves the American Clean Energy Agenda and basing their
findings on "computer models" and "assumptions" should have
their "findings" and motives thoroughly vetted. Just the fact that they
want to push their 'findings" through by executive order and by pass
Congress should raise eyebrows and tell you that there are a lot of trumped up
assumptions in their "study". Their 10 year low statement is wrong. 4
or 5 years ago the CO river was so high it backed up all the way to the back
parking lot of the Archway Inn here in Moab. Weather goes in cycles. Some years
are dyer than others. Better forest management would go a long way toward
increasing the run off and raising the water supply. Poor environmental policies
are to blame. When you have 150 trees sucking up the ground water in an area
where there used to be 50, common sense tells you the forest needs to be thinned
to increase the run off. The ACEA know that if they can control and restrict the
water, they can control and restrict the population and industrial growth of the
Is it time yet to establish limited development and growth expansion yet? The
CUP pipe line has been scrubbed, again, but will the bond and taxes continue for
another 60 years? I think its safe to assume and predict that exploiting the
Colorado and Green Rivers has run its course for many years to come. The state of Utah and mining, oil wells, and exploitation of our ecology and
environment will come to a halt when all the aquifers run dry and grass is
forbidden yard decoration. And water from districts will be sold by the glass
(8oz) with meters on home faucets. We are desert country and billions
of barrels of water removed from the ecology every year as we go into a scorched
earth progressive political waste land.
