    Vegas Ute and CoUte,

Go look at the article on the new BYU DB commit, less than a day old and over 25 comments, with about HALF coming from Ute fans.

    @vegas ute

"Donovan Isom commits to the U!!"

You know what's funny about this stuff is that you don't even know who this kid is or if he is the stud of all studs or a complete waste of roster space. That is why I mock you utah "fans" about this stuff because the truth is you don't have a clue what kind of player he is or what he will become. Guys like yourself and azute read something on rivals and watch a couple of youtube highlight films and start thinking you are professional talent evaluators. It is hilarious.

You mock BYU fans about "pre season" victories and accomplishments all of the time but the truth is nothing is more "pre season" ridiculous than getting all worked up over some recruit who you know nothing about and who has done nothing at all to warrant your irrational exuberance.

next time you want to make some snarky comment about a BYU fan making a pre season claim about their team why don't you remember how ridculous it is to get all worked up over a "pre college" kid that hasn't even finished HS yet.

    LOL!

Vegas Ute, that's exciting, he was definitely the second QB target behind Sharp, and after being a virtual unknown last year had his recruitment blow up this spring. Not bad to be chosen over a school like Miami. Either way, he was going to the U!

CougFaninTX: "Which of U do I believe?"

Those who really cared to know could simply look up the information. But, why would anyone expect a byU fan to get actual facts?. PAC 12 fan most likely saw him play his sophomore year, which was a huge year for Joe.

"please count how many Utes comment on BYU commits, including U." Says a byU "fan" commenting on a Utah commit! Irony?

As usual, TX, thanks for showing us your Utah love and support. We really fo appreciate it!

    Go Utes! Onward and Upward!

CFiT, sorry, misread your comment. And I would encourage you as well to look for how many comments I make regarding BYU commits besides congratulating the few that I know or have seen play personally. Tukuafu didn't sit his junior year for injury, as I understand it was an academic issue, which is cleared up now.

CFiT, Duckhunter had a comment before I posted that was removed. My count was correct at the time.

Scout has finally rated Kyle Christiansen and he's now listed as a 3-Star DT....Since Scout is awfully stingy in giving out 4-/5-Stars, this is quite the compliment to Kyle!

@VegasUte says he didn't play last year, sat out for injury.

@PAC12fan says he watched him play last year.

Which of U do I believe?

@StGtoSLC please count how many Utes comment on BYU commits, including U.

I'm sure you realize that has happened once in the last 10 years; and when it did happen, it happened by the narrowest of margins. Don't let one season define the last 10 years; it's not a proper barometer.

    @ Baylan

at the time I made my post, there were 2 comments from 'fans of another program' basically indicating this signing wasn't a big deal. Hence the choice of the word 'couple'.

Kudos to the Utes for winning the battle for all those multi stars athletes! I think it's wonderful for them. It's too bad though that the more 3, 4, or 5 star athletes the Utes get the more their fans look down their noses on BYU and ridicule them for attracting only 2 or no star athletes. Frankly, I don't really care as long as they develop those no star kids into winners both on and off the field with the talents they have. As long as they win and go bowling at season end and the kids have fun, that's all that matters.

On the other hand, I'd hate to pound my chest about having all those multi star kids and still end up on a couch potato bowl in my basement. And now that you've won all those star athletes, let's see if you can improve on last year's embarrassment and go bowling this year! Do that and your boastings will carry more weight! As it is now, it's nothing but noise!

Balan, there were actually 3 at the time CO Ute posted, about a quarter of the commenters. Now there are 5, making it about a third. Astounding, indeed.

Hey CO Ute - One comment from "fans of another program". Yes, ONE. I find it astounding that BYU fans care so little about what goes on up on the hill.

Hope things go well for Joe.

This is a very nice commitment for the Utes. Despite the couple of comments from fans of another program, this is a high caliber recruit. I suspect he will get offers from other PAC 12 schools but will not change his mind. Perfect timing to come into the program as Jake Murphy leaves. Best of luck young man!

A true stud. He will be on the Heisman watch list his first year o the hill. We all know that coach W has a talent of putting guys on all the watch lists.

CougFaninTX: For those who don't actually know anything about this kid - Joe earned his offer going into his junior year based on his sophomore season play. However, Joe didn't get to play his junior year, but the Utah coaches still followed him. So, no junior year, no reporting services watching his progress, no stars YET assigned. He will be playing again this year, so we will see what the services rank him after he has had his senior year to play. The fact that other schools are after him without him playing a junior year says a lot about his talent and his dedication. Of course, the byU "fans" will never read that part of the story. They are just happy to have commits who have no offers from any other schools.

Welcome home Joe! We look forward to seeing you as a Ute in 2016!! You will be home to see the Utes go 5-0 at RES.

    Go Utes!! Onward and Upward

Welcome to Ute Nation! Good luck your senior year, both on and off the field!

@CougFaninTX: "Congrats on beating out Utah State in the recruiting battle."

You make it sound like if that's a bad thing.

BYU had to beat out "NO Diddly Tech" for 5 of the 10 current recruits (according to Rivals). Unlike Utah where 7 of 8 recruits choose Ute Nation over multiple offers. So why are you here?

"To the standard Ute fans who comment on BYU commits - "

Where you error is not waiting 'til the final rankings are out....Just as KF began unranked on Scout, he's now a high 3-Star on their website....Final '13 rankings on Scout had 2-Star byu garnering 19 2-Star commitments out of a total of 28....Hence, "2-Star byu".

Therefore, it's fair to assume 2-Star byu's current batch of '14 2-Stars will likely remain 2-Stars and UTAH's Tukuafu will likely be bumped-up to at minimum a 3-Star at some point soon.

This kid was always going to be a Ute. I watched him play last year against Herriman and West. The game was too easy for this kid and it was easy to see that he was a man amongst boys. Reminded me of Star when he played at Bingham. Once he discovers how good he is, the sky is the limit.

To the standard Ute fans who comment on BYU commits -

I know, I know . . . 2 star commits are "diamonds in the rough" who will be star performers if they commit to Utah, but won't amount to anything and we couldn't do any better if they commit to BYU. Or we could go with Rivals who does not have him any stars.

Congrats on beating out Utah State in the recruiting battle.

I am really excited for this kid but worried. I have noticed a pattern developing. Basically K Whitt and crew have shown great skill in finding versitile players like this early and have to spend the next 7 months fending off other BCS programs.
Overall it is a good problem to have.

“He was close on several fronts. I still believe that Oregon State is a day away from offering him,” Matich said. “Oregon State is very close and Washington is very close. He’s going to blow up here pretty quick.”

It's great seeing our commits receive attention from other schools, as well. Kenyon Frison is yet another who's committed to us and is still being pursued by others [i.e., OU, UW, etc.]

Our local kids are positioning themselves to become homegrown-legends up there on The Hill!
