Some folks talk about a steep learning curve as though it were a bad thing. You are supposed to go DOWN the learning curve, going faster and faster with increased repetitions. So, a steep learning curve is actually a good thing. You get better faster!

If you prefer that the Cougars go "down" the learning curve... enjoy...

Most people go "up" a steep learning curve... learning more as they go...

But if Cougars pursue the opposite approach... Who am I to argue?

I'm just glad Lavell Edwards decided to become the HC at BYU, because he had so much experience at the D1 level (it's called FBS now btw) and so many people were wanting his services, *end sarcasm. Sometimes the unheralded, unknown, inexperienced guy becomes the hero Howie...we should be happy whenever that happens. Don't be such a wet blanket...let these guys prove what they can do, and then you can talk smack. As I've said before, talking about it now just sounds like wishful thinking from an understandably worried ute fan.

"...let the guys prove what they can do..."?

Did you also call for patience when the collective Cougar Nation was mocking BJ as a young OC at Utah?

btw... Lavell needed 4 seasons of HC experience before he won more than 7 games...

Cougar Nation won't allow Tejague and Atuaia 4 years to learn the job... Doman only got 2 years...

And absolutely no one at utah, whittingham, hill, utah "fans", allowed johnson 2 years let alone 4 years. He was immediately replaced at the end of last season depsite the laughable "co" title.

Whit hired a mentor for BJ.... Bronco kicked Doman to the curb.

And even without a mentor BJ is 2 - 0 against your Cougars...

Now that's lol...

Was it a mistake for Kyle to hire these 3 assistants in 2005, none of whom had any D1 experience as a coach?

Jay Hill

As for BYU's OL coach, Robert Anae will still coach the OL with 2J. Anae has, what, 20 years of OL coaching experience? Nobody thinks our OL play will be worse than last year.

Oh... so nobody thinks the OL play will be worse than last year.

Well I guess that settles it then... you should have said that earlier.

btw... If Anae is going to due 2J's job... is he also going to do Atuaia's job?
