Katie Hammer,
Very nice article. Jack Sparrow on the Salt Flats. Perfect.

Any article like this is always going to have omissions because there are so many films made here, but here are some other worthy contenders that show off Utah:

Carnival of Souls (1962)- Saltair

Unhook the Stars (1991, Marisa Tomei and Gena Rowlands)- SLC

SLC Punk- SLC (of course)

Dream Machine (1991, Corey Haim)- nominally set in Denver but filmed in SLC with many recognizable SLC venues, including La Caille, the house at 3rd Ave & C St, 11th Avenue Park, Liberty Park, the UofU, and the 9th & 9th Smith's

Ruben and Ed (1991)- SLC, Hanksville, San Rafael Desert. Count on Trent Harris to show off the home town.

And then there's that 1980s ninja film with the fight on top of American Towers.
