80 years is a long time. Congratulations.

Wow, they both look incredible for their age. Congrats on 80 years together!

My congratulations also to a truly amazing couple. You are an inspiration to the rest of us, and US.

This will probably never happen in America again.

Many years ago a longtime married couple (married over 60 years, maybe more) appeared on the Johnny Carson show. Carson asked them whether they had ever fought. The wife said, "No." She paused and then added with a laugh, "But we've come close to murder several times." I'm sure her humor was a reason the marriage stayed together.

Thi is the only kind of marriage that should exist ... the lastink kind, committed, faithful, loving, caring where both support each other to protect the stability, the love, the health of their loving relationship and the safety of the family unit.

In todays world, where love has become more of a consumption than the kind of love described above, the end result is broken families, sexual diseases, emotional and financial instability and all the problems that go with them.

I know that sometimes when our life is in danger because of our spouse's actions it is better to separate but, in truth, all couples should use their best endeavour to keep the kind of marriage described above .... so that when they grow old they can still hold hands and look at each other with the same kind of heart and joy they had when they first met... for everyone's benefit.

I never married ... but i rejoice when i see two older people still holding hands after so many years .. such a rare thing.
