The more weapons everyone has, the safer we will all be.

    I saw it on Drudge.

DN Subscriber: Hmmmmm. I envision a whole new set of labels which may well be wielded in the continuing debate over gun rights. "Hoplophobe" or "Hoplophobic bigot"

Since we obviously all stand by the "Stupid" motto: Let the rock throwing continue!

I applaud WX's decision to grant the license. I do not worry about this kind of business as the traffic should be minimal and the inventory safely stored.

There might be a market for a home inspection service for the anti-firearm folks to check under their beds to be sure there are no boggey men and other scarey creatures. They seen so concerned with the "what ifs" that periodic inspection against the unknown may have a calming effect. Just a thought.

Doesn't seem like a good way to turn neighbors into friends.

Background checks for legal gun purchases will keep the guns out of the hands of those trying to use a phony ID.

Well done WX council for not cowing to political correctness and hysteria. Deseret News, please schedule a follow up article to this in six months, a year... two years, so we can review the actual data on shootings and other gun mischief that occurs in that neighborhood as a result of the council's decision. Commentators to this story on this site and others can then admit they were wrong about the mayhem they are sure is about to ensue because of the imminent gun proliferation in that zip code. On 2nd thought, never mind - they'll never admit to that.

Way to go Woods Cross. Paranoia of the anti gunners did not prevail. Freedom prevails in Woods Cross.

The neighbor wants the permit denied because someone might use false ID to buy a gun and presumably using this false ID they couldn't buy it anywhere else? Certainly that is a possibility. The extra gravity caused by the mass of the guns might draw an asteroid into the neighborhood too. I guess anything is a possibility.

Common sense prevailed over hoplophobic hysteria.

    Well done, Council members!

Remember, every time anyone proposes any sort of loosening of gun laws, or relaxing requirements, the anti-gun crowd shows up, predicting mayhem, blood in the streets, "shootouts at the OK Corral," and the like. And then after many years experience where the dire predictions fail to materialize, they never admit that they were wrong, and that their fears were unjustified.

Criminals will still get guns illegally, just like they get illegal drugs, steal cars and commit other crimes. Law abiding gun owners, and dealers, are not the problem, it's the criminals who are the problem.
