Nice honor Chuckie. This should be a good year for your program. Just beat the
Utes and everyone in Utah will be happy.
@Ute busterNot everyone like the aggies and wants them to beat Utah
again. On another note it's just another list for another award that he
has no chance to win. Make no mistake about it aggies I know how much of an
honor it is. This kid is good and is being recognized for his talent. But he
isn't talented enough to win any of these big time awards.
Utah State is the second best program in the state right now. Coming off a 10 win season, 2 field goals away from a BCS game, top 25
ranking.Other than being a member of a Pac 12 team 4 years removed
from a second BCS win against Alabama, I can't think of a more desirable
position to be in for anyone in the state. Go AggiesGo
Chuckie stays healthy and USU has another record season. Yes, he is that good.
Crissy is correct. USU is the second best team in the state.#1 - BYU#2 - USU#3 - SUU#4 - Dixie#5 - Utah
Down undie is wrong. It's:#1 - BYU#2 - BYU#3 - BYU#4 - USU#5 - BYU#6 - Bingham#7 - Jordan#8 - Dixie#9 - WSU#10 - SUU#11 - Bountiful High...#42 - Utah
I am a BYU fan, however, I think it is great Keeton is being recognized; he
deserves the acknowledgement.BTW, ignore Chris B. There are several
reasons, one being he is irrelevant, and another is that one can surmise from
the comments he/she/it makes, Chris B. lives in a fantasy bubble that is a
suburb of the Emerald City in the merry old land of Oz.At any rate,
Chuckie is a very good quarterback and I hope more recognition comes his way.
@Down underAt least we are number 3 in someones elses eye's.
Besides mine of course. @Go Big BluePutting to much
faith in this one guy aren't you? Remeber offense win's games.
Defense win's championships.
@ StangThat is just why the Aggies won the WAC against 2 other top
25 teams last year. They didn't need any defense against a highly over
rated qb at SUU.
What a shocker. The one person who usually argues with me is arguing with me.
OVERRATED? Clarify that for me please. He may have been overrated in your
eye's but in the real world around the state he was/is the real deal.
I've heard his name on ESPN multiple times. If the excperts at ESPN are
mentioning his name he is far from overrated. Keeton cannot/will not live up to
the excpectations of you fan's. You think he is untouchable in every way
and he isn't. Please if I'm wrong prove it. Next time you want to
talk about someone who was/is overraated let's talk about Jake Heaps.
The SUU game was over after the first 8 minutes....I'm sure Weber State
will present much more of a challenge this year.
@IronmomoDon't count on it. I like Weber State and respect the
heck out of them. However, they need to rebuild their program to it's
former glory. And you can stop bringing up that game. You won and don't
need to boast about it all the time. Besides the fact that we are talking about
Keeton losing another award. Not Brad and weather he will have success in the
big leagues. Let's see how long it takes the aggies to mention Brad's
name again. I just offered an opinion about Keeton and some how Brad's
name came up. He may have been apart of my team but when the article isn't
talking about him I don't mention his name. Until you closet T-Birds
mention it of course.
Question Stang, did Brad ever have a respectable game against any real
competition. He certainly choked against the Aggies. Of course, a lot of qbs
choked against the Aggies last year. Chuckie would not be on so many lists
unless he was THAT GOOD! Will he win any of them, most likely not. I do agree
with you, Heaps was not good. Nelson was not good. Hill will be good. Not just
as good as Chuckie.
Just under two hours before the name was mentioned again. UNLV and CAL were
very respectable. Or maybe you didn't notice we beat UNLV and hung 30+
points on CAL. Plus beating multiple number 1 FCS teams like Eastern Washington
is respectable. You may not think so but it really doesn't matter what you
think. What choke job do you speak of? The aggies were ready. The aggies did
the job they were supposed to. Nelson was good. You just don't like him
because he got out of aggie country. Hill may be as good if not better than
Keeton. Don't know just yet. Let's see if Keeton makes it in the
NFL. If he doesn't when the time comes then we know who was better. Brad
Sorenson would be the one who is better. All I said was Keeton wouldn't win
any awards. And then this happend.
Stang, I would have you ask the Y fans what they thought of Nelson. UNLV, CAL,
Eastern Washington are quality teams? What top 75 teams did any of them beat? We
were elated that Nelson left so we could have Chuckie. We already have the score
on Chuckie and Brad, the score, 1-0. You slap my Aggies be prepared to take the
Stang, the reason everyone brings up Brad Sorenson with you is because you spent
the ENTIRE preseason leading up to the USU v. SUU game on the Herald Journal
boards running your mouth and "boasting" (to use a word you're fond
of) about how he was going to shred USU's defense and how he was the best
QB in the state, etc. Well, what happened? He looked like a scared deer in the
headlights of an oncoming freight train when he actually had to stare down a
real defense. His offense scored a grand total of THREE points while the USU
offense coasted on autopilot to an easy win. So, we're just making you eat
some well deserved crow. And, given the accuracy of your previous predictions
over the past 3-4 years, you ought to find some good recipes, since you're
likely to eat a lot more of it if the current trend continues. Oh, and UNLV and
Cal last year are hardly what anyone in the FBS world would call
Chuckie, on the other hand, has performed extremely well even in very hostile
conditions against formidable opponents. You forget his freshman year at
Auburn, where he almost single-handedly had the game won in his first ever
collegiate showing against the defending National Champions. Only defensive
lapses which he had no control over cost USU that game. Then there have been
the games at Wisconsin, vs. Utah (which despite their poor showing last year had
a respectable defense at least), at Louisiana Tech, at San Jose State, and vs.
Toledo, all of which were masterful (though not always perfect) performances
against very respectable competition, including three teams that were ranked in
the Top 25. Not taking anything away from Brad Sorenson. The NFL scouts
obviously saw something in him. But if he was good, then Chuckie is phenomenal
@Aggie84Don't really care what everyone thought of Nelson. Yes
they were. UNLV maybe not but Cal is a quality team. They are a PAC12 school
after all. And Eastern Washington being number 1 in the country at the FCS leve
is no question a quality team. NUMBER 1 equals quality. What heat? I see weak
people presenting bitter opinions. Chuckie is still an aggie and Brad is in the
NFL. So just talk. @Aggie238My argument still stands.
He was the best. USU was just ready. That tells me they were afriad of him.
USU has a new coach so I believe they won't do anything. I find it funny
that you consider your team the best in the country. I was under the impression
that the National Champion was the best in the country. Guess I and the rest of
the country have a lot to learn. The National Champion isn't the best in
the country. USU is undoubtably the best in the country. Almost doesn't
count. Against big schools you cannot pull of a win. You always choke (to use
a word you're fond of). Now end this aggies.
Stang, no one here has said anything even remotely insinuating that USU is the
best in the country. Brad Sorenson was not the best. Compare stats straight
up. Chuckie Keeton was/is the better QB in every single category, outside of
his freshman year when he only played the first half of the season (even then,
he still had a higher QB rating and performed better in most categories than
Sorenson). He still has two years left and has showed no signs of hitting a
ceiling. Also, I almost never use the word "choke" except when
referring to starting lawnmowers.
And for a team that supposedly had to be overprepared for Sorenson, USU sure
spent a lot of time with the 3rd and 4th string on the field...
D News... I am sick of having to post multiple times to get my comments on your
board, get it right and FIX IT!Stang - give it a rest. You hate the
Aggies, ok... I get it. BUT you spent the entire pre season last year spouting
about how bad the Ags were going to be and you were wrong. To make it
worse, USU ended as a top 25 team. No BYU, No Utah, and certainly no SUU... as
bad as you hate it, man up and deal with it.You can have your
opinion, but your predictions don't mean squat to anyone and are only based
on your hatred of USU.The experts think Chuckie is deserving of
recognition and you want everyone to listen to a wanna be from Cedar City
Guys, Stang knows his stuff. Listen to him. Chuckie is mediocre at best and
certainly doesn't deserve any awards. Long live the Thunderbirds.
The Aggie fan's and especially The A Game need to learn something. I have
an opinion that cannot/will not be changed about the aggies. Nothing more will
Let me start by saying I like Keeton. He is a heck of a player. As of now he
is in fact the best in the state. Who knows how well the aggies will do this
year without Andersen. All I know is Keeton's future is bright. Everyone
here needs to chill and just let people rant if they choose. Without degrading
them and treating them poorly. I like all teams. Some are better than others
and everyone no matter where you went to school should cheer for all in state
teams when they have succuss. It's that simple. Now who is with me?
Fun to see USU this year, to see if last year was a fluke. They have Chuckie,
the entire O-line, and 7 returning starters in Defense back, all special teams
back as well except for punter. How are you gonna shut the critics?
Game 1- Utah , then USC, then BYU, and Boise State. Until proven otherwise-
you're still chasing. Good motivation. Not much room for gab bin
especially when it's going on the field.Chuckie the only legit
proven QB that is likely to go next level- And this is his junior year!!!! GO
Chuckie. Frankly, people have no clue about how good USU is!!!!
@Aloha Saint GeorgeNone of those games you mentioned are winnable.
Utah is looking for revenge. BYU is just plain better. Boise never losess to
USU. And USC is just a different calibar. Until he plays teams like USC
regularly Chuckie hasn't proven himself. Rude wake up call in the big
leagues. If he even makes it.
Stang,"Until he plays teams like USC regularly, Chuckie
hasn't proven himself." (correct grammar added)So, what
does that say about Brad Sorensen? I don't recall seeing SUU on more than
one or two BCS schools' schedules each year, if that. (And that's
assuming that BCS teams like Cal are the same as teams like USC, which they are
not.) Or did the NFL scouts just take crapshot with an obviously
Furthermore, ALL of those games are winnable. I'm not saying USU will win
them all, but the possibility does exist and is not completely far fetched.
Utah is only marginally better than they were last year, if at all, and mainly
because they actually have a solid QB who is not made of china and who will stay
the same from week to week. Whether they are good enough to beat USU is
definitely an unanswered question, and most Ute fans will readily admit that.
BYU barely squeaked by last year in Provo, and USU actually has a kicker
now--which proved to be the difference in that game. BYU's defense, while
still formidable, is down a couple of notches from last year. The USU offense
vs. the BYU defense is still a question, but USU's defense vs. BYU's
offense probably gives USU a slight edge. Boise State of 2013 is not the Boise
State of 2009. Tough game, but winnable at home. USC is definitely the
toughest game, but given USU's past performance in these games, one has to
think that they will get the breakthrough at some point, and maybe this is the
Beating a few number 1 teams means he had proven himself. And the fact that he
fought with a former BYU QB to get the started spot and that QN squeaked by him
means he was a proven star. But you aggies will never see that. Thanks for
proving my point. Utah is in fact better. Did BYU win or not? What you gonna
say when BSU beats you? Think they will get the breakthrough but won't
actually do it. You are not better than me Aggie238 so stop trying. And as
usual you are avoiding talking about the most important factor in USU's
season. The only reason they had the season they did a year ago and the same
reason they won't have half that success this coming year. Sorry kid but
you lose this arguement.
