Sad story but I have to ask why is it so many motorcyclists refuse to wear a helmet? does it not look cool, is your life and your family not important enough to take precautions? I will say this. If you do not wear helmets or in the case of car driving do not wear a seat belt you are telling your family and friends you do not love them enough to save your life so you can be with them.

We have been visiting from Iowa this week and have been astounded at how fast the traffic in SL County travels on I-15. It is nowhere near the speed limit of 65. The "flow of traffic" or the "highway speed" that this article mentions is more like 78-80 mph. I do not understand how people can think this is safe. I cannot fathom that public officials have not taken major measures to enforce the limit. I pulled into the commuter lane with 4 people in our car. We drove 65 and were in danger of our lives as everyone drove by honking at us and cutting us off. We do not feel safe driving in the Salt Lake to Provo areas and will need to consider other more safe options. Speed cameras are not my favorite option, but I v
Can tell you that in Des Moines, speeds went from mid70s to 60 as soon as cameras were installed and tickets given.

IA Cougar, Utah tried that with photo cop but then people started whine and cry like babies to have it removed, so it disappeared. I always thought if you obeying the law you have nothing to worry about. Maybe in church on Sunday they should teach the article of faith about being subject to the laws of the land and this includes traffic laws. Last conference weekend I asked a non LDS coworker how his weekend was he said it was terrible getting cut off while driving by vans full of LDS people heading to conference, and then he takes his grand daughter to a restaurant and a person coming from conference knocks her to the ground while she was in line at the buffet and doesn't even apologize to her. The prophet should not have to remind people to be courteous at the end of sessions it should be a given and lived everyday.

My son's friend lost his dad in a motorcycle accident. He was not wearing a helmet.
