Facebook has been flooded with condolences for these wonderful heroes. Thankfully their sacrifice has been recognized by thousands, maybe millions. Without ever having met a single one of them, I have been praying for their families. I thank God that there are still inspirational people in the world today. May their families find peace and comfort. May they realize how many of us share their sorrow.

It saddens me when these bright, valiant and brave young men lose their lives for us. I hope their death will not be in vain and that the communities where they live will never forget what they did for them. My heart, my love and my prayers go to these wonderful families and it's my hope those closest to them will remain close to them. How blessed our Nation is because of these brave and courageous fire fighters. May the Lord's choicest blessing be with their families.

Coming from a former military/National Guard standpoint, these folks are amongst the bravest and strongest. And show the goal of protecting their loved ones and communities.

One question I had, simply because my life had not taken the path that leads to becoming a 'hot shot' crew member, is how does one get into that career? Local fire department? U.S. Forest Service?

Brave men in my book ! their knowledge kept many safe. their lives are memorable. Thank YOU each firefighter where ever you are for all you do to risk and save. I pray the 19 families have comfort through this sad time. I pray the young man whom survived understands he is not to blame. hugs to him also
