I hope the coin owner doesn't expect any help from the police, they even let the novelist doing this story add the police phone number as a courtesy.

Theft is non recoverable and not the responsibility of the police. Reporting to the police where stolen property is is also a waste of time and police threaten individuals with criminal arrest if they try to recover their stolen property, even when the police say they won't go get it.

This is police policy and mentality, they do not do recovery work on stolen property unless its done on discovery for other drug related crimes thieves are being investigated about.

The coins are gone and no coin dealer is held accountable for how people acquire rare coins when they buy them from the thieves.
