Unstated in the article are the thoughts of folks who don't attend church regarding their belief in God, or a higher power. My experience in dealing with others who are not religious is a high percentage believe there's something beyond this life, there is a higher power.

As a friend put it, "I believe in God, I believe in the Golden Rule, we don't need to get together and talk about it every week."

This doesn't mean people are hopelessly lost and bound to moral decline, with selfish anarchy about to ensue. This also doesn't mean we're on the precipice of the 2nd Coming of Jesus.

Canada seems like a very nice place where crime is lower than the US, Canadians seem like very kind and caring people, very interested in supporting and helping each other. If the fear is the US is headed down the sad road that has afflicted Canada, maybe there not that much to be afraid of.

Good to see that the young Canadians "get it".
