Interesting interview. However, Focus on the Family's ultra-conservative moral posturing is off-putting. Why is it necessary to defend Bono for occasionally tipping a glass of stout? The man does all sorts of humanitarian deeds and his moral standing comes down to a beer?

I lost all respect for Focus on the Family as a credible source of information years ago when Dr. James Dobson felt it necessary to introduce a Jewish researcher in child developmental psychology that he was interviewing on his "Family News in Focus" radio show as a "non-believer." He actually had to defend her and explain to his listeners that her secular research findings were still acceptable even though she was not a Christian. How messed up is that? I don't know if it says more about Dobson or his audience.

I don't know why this comes as a surprise. I've followed U2 from high school times. Songs like Sunday Bloody Sunday, 40, Yaweh, and many others reference deity. I don't always agree with Paul Hewson's political bends, but I will respect them.
