Now that I think about it, this actually does make a lot of sense. Not only were the pro-family themes of Despicable Me quite Mormon-y, but so were the very STRONG religious themes of Horton Hears a Who!, which went probably far beyond what Dr. Seuss ever intended.

Loved all of their movies! Wonderful to see that solid, fun, value-oriented movies ARE successful, and are also a great deal of fun.

Keep it going, guys!

Thrilled to see Mormons making it as screenwriters in Hollywood. That said,I will never be able to forgive them for "Santa Clause 2." Ugh!

Loved all those movies. Always left the theater with a good feeling...now I know why! Keep up the good work!

I saw Despicable Me 2 last week in Australia. I have never laughed so much in all my life and had such a wonderful time. I cried a bit at the end too, but the grand finale was just so awesome! I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it, but I await with eager anticipation for the Minion Movie which has been hinted of for ages - the end credits will give you a clue! Stay till the very end and leave the cinema with a smile on your face!! I think it is great that LDS guys have made in big in Hollywood. I can't think of anyone who didn't like this movie! Congrats guys - Loved it!

OK, I loved Despicable Me and am anxious to see part 2. But claiming to not be "preachy" and then putting out "The Lorax"? That was one of the most over-the-top environmental soap boxes ever produced on stage, screen, book or speech: A virtual steam-roller of preachiness over a misguided principle. Someone might be afraid to even trim their trees or weed the garden after that one.

But other than that, keep up the good work. Glad to see some influence for good in Hollywood. They may be all alone in that field.

I love the trailer when a minion says "bottom". Hilarious.

Yeah, because even in Hollywood, the Mormons have the copyright, patent, and monopoly on all things good, virtuous, "family-values-y", and the like...

Give me a break.

At "The Scientist"...so How on earth did you get so cynical? Why come to an LDS newspaper if you all you plan on doing is being sarcastic toward us? How many other LDS movie writers are there in Hollywood, and how many of the "others" write Good Family movies? None, that's how many.

OK, I just saw this movie on a Premier night tonight and I have to say that this is one of the best movies I have seen in years! It is touching, very funny and profound. It is better than the first one and is one of the few movies that I will buy. Thank you for creating such a great movie! My whole body hurts because of laughing so hard.

Poor "Lone Ranger" will get trounced this weekend by a group of minions that deserve to be seen. Go see this movie whether you have kids, grandkids or not. Be prepared to laugh your brains out and cry till it hurts.
