" ........ Then there will be others that want to play for a real chance at BCS success..."

You mean like USC & Oregon??

@Naval Vet:

You should feel a bit hypocritical for putting any other team down for playing smaller schools as long as Utah still has teams like Weber State on their schedule. Actually, Weber State did win more games than Colorado last year... who also happens to be on your schedule.

@Uteology:

It's pretty much a given that most college football programs consider it more prestigious to play Boise at Bronco stadium than they do to play Utah at whatever it's field is called. Not many teams walk off that blue field with wins. And those that do almost always move up in national poll rankings.

@Oregonian:

Are you really so naive as to even insinuate that Whittingham gets every recruit he wants and goes after? Wow. You just lost a lot of online credibility with that one... with both BYU and Utah fans alike. Even grade school football fans know better than that.

The article mentiond Utah made him an offer. I guess you missed that part.

"Chris, from reading your comments one would think the Utes were tearing up the recruiting trail. Glad to see you haven't lost your touch."

Hysterical witnessing 2-Star byu fan attempt to talk trash regarding recruiting, particularly when their most recently completed recruiting class is still fresh. Of 28 commits, their 2013 haul consisted of 19 2-Stars. Yes, you read it correctly--19!

Per Scout as well, of their 8 recruits listed to date for 2014, 4 are 2-Stars. Of UTAH's listed 6, only 1 is. byu's avg Stars is 2.50, while UTAH's is 3.00.

Tators and Cougsrock,

I guess you guys missed Oregonian's sarcasm. Pretty sure he's a card-carrying Cougar.

Way to go Tico (Teancum), will be excited to see you play for BYU in a few years and a nice surprise with Sione! It is pretty exciting how BYU is able to sign good players and help them get better!

Give credit where credit is due ... two nice recruiting wins by BYU.

That said, will someone please take note that BYU offered AFTER Utah. Maybe this can put to rest the silly assertions that Utah follows BYU offers with offers of their own. Both coaches and programs will offer who they see fit and it will not always coincide or have anything to do with the other. In fact it often has more to do with when the coaches get to see the recruit in their own camp or one of a million other things.

Again, congrats to BYU and good luck to these young men.

Sounds great! I don't know these kids from Adam, and won't pull an azute1 and pretend that I know anything about rating recruits just because I watched a Youtube highlight, but it is always nice to hear some well thought of kids are going to join the program. Congratulations boys, can't wait to see you in blue!

Per Scout, 19 of 2-Star byu's 28 commits from 2013 were rated 2-Stars. Of the 8 commits they list to date for 2014, 4 are rated 2-Stars. Their avg Star-rating is 2.50. Beyond impressive!

To clarify, the article stated that Fuga, who's nowhere to be found on Scout, received offers from UTAH, bsu & usu. Again, this is solely per this article's author, Brandon Gurney.

Regarding Takitaki, Scout lists his only other offers from ua, UNR, SDSU, SJSU, WAZZU & WISC. However, he was never offered by UTAH!

Good luck to Fuga. Always a difficult choice. Hope he can achieve the same level of success as his bro.
Just hope your best game isn't against our utes!

Oregonian,
Try to keep up here. We will type slower for you. Utah and Whit did offer so he must be good enough to play for a BCS school. He chose BYU over Utah. Live with it and move on to Utah articles.

But seriously folks!

wwookie,
Thanks for showing some class. Please help your fellow ute fans.

@AZUTE1

You can enjoy your ute "stars"

While we are enjoying watching BYU in bowl games and playing Texas and Notre dame, et al.

It's easy to understand why a player would commit to BYU. It is hard to understand turning the Cougars down. not many are qualified. Few are offered the opportunity to play for BYU, the honor alone should be enough to get most to commit.

Looks like Chrissy B. and Naval Vet are getting vewee, vewee nervous.......

"...while UTAH's is 3.00"... which is < USC, Oregon, Stanford averages.

When will you Utesies start comparing yourselves to your PAC10.2 brothers.

Oh, that's right, they don't care about their little sister's LOW star ratings either.

Bwaaaaaah!

@AZUte

For the umpteenth time...

Paul Kruger was two star.
Dennis Pitta was a walk on.
Steve Young wasn't even a blue-chipper
The last two Super Bowl QB's were 3 stars.

Ute fans, listen up, your competition is not BYU anymore, but real football legacy schools in the Pac, all of which have more history and prestige than U ever can or will have.
Your False Bravado is wearing thin.

AZUTE:
It must be very embarrassing having a losing record, staying home for bowl season, and being winless against any conference team with a winning record when you have 4 star athletes and are such a recruiting juggernaut.
