He was a courageous man to achieve what he did considering his mitochondrial disease. Rest in peace.

May he rest in peace. Just goes to show that the well to do aren't that much different than the rest of us. They have the same struggles as we do, sometimes worse.

I had the opportunity of meeting Stephen only once. I could not help but be impressed with his charm, his intellect, and his keen insight. Our prayers are with his family.

I only met Stephen a few times during my six years working at Marriott headquarters. He was always gracious and very respectful of everyone he worked with.

If not for his severe health problems, Stephen likely would have been groomed to follow in the footsteps of his father and grandfather in leading the company.

My condolences to all of the Marriott family.
