@Big --

"Your referral to individuals with changed or pliable orientation as "mythical" or "imaginary" beings is incredibly insulting,"

Fortunately, I never said any such thing.

What I DID say was that:

1. you have not shown us any evidence that "reparative" THERAPY is successful in changing one's orientation;

2. the existence of such successfully "cured" people is, in the absence of evidence, most likely imaginary.

"your dismissal of their documented experiences"

You have never yet actually documented such purported experiences, Big. I keep asking for evidence, but you keep failing to provide any.

"Your denial of their existence only betrays your bias."

Nope. My continued notice of the serious lack of evidence actually only betrays my scientific background.

Show us the evidence, Big.

"the existence of bisexuals is evidence enough that MANY individuals can have attractions/fulfillment in either direction"

"Bisexual" is not the same thing as "gay", Big.

For one thing, bisexual people would be unlikely to seek out "reparative" therapy. Since they would already know that they could have fulfilling relationships with the opposite gender, they wouldn't need "therapy" to do so.

Let's see some evidence of "therapeutic" success, Big.

The fact is, none know the origins of bi or same sexual attraction. Some is probably genetic, some may be environmental (e.g. the surge in estrogen-like plastics flooding the environment), and there are other possibilities. But can you imagine the injustice of being subject to what is in essence torture to change one's inborn sexuality? Who will pay for this abuse? Is there any justice?

Cedar Hills, UT

God separates feelings and actions. Homosexual acts are sins. A child of God with feelings of same-gender sexual attraction is loved as much as any other child.

Some people have been successful in changing their sexual orientation.

And that success is reason for groups such as this to exist.

There are people who want to be helped.

And help is possible.

It really is that simple

Hooray for people who want to help others with their problems!

@Christopher B --

"Some people have been successful in changing their sexual orientation. "

Repeating a claim doesn't make it true, Chris.

Where's your evidence?

Stlil waiting -- but not holding my breath.

@Contrarius. Per DN rules(Law),I only get 4 posts. So, the best way to answer your Eisegesis you need several Biblical commentaries to help you understand the context. i.e.

( Gill’s Commentary on Jude 1:7) "other flesh"; meaning not other women besides their own wives, but men; unnatural sin, which, from these people, is called sodomy ;contrary to the light of nature and law of God, dishonourable to human nature,

Jesus did not address homosexuality is an argument from Silence and rests on a shaky rational foundation. Jesus also didn’t say a word about pedophilia, bestiality, or rape. But it would be absurd to seek support for any of those abominable acts on the basis of such silence.
” do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy… nor swindlers[ who exceed DN posts rules] will inherit the kingdom of God.(1Cor 6:9-10) *Apostle Paul.
(*Greek Apostolos) one sent forth with orders specifically applied to the twelve apostles of Christ

@donn --

You still haven't answered my question about Paul. I wonder why.

The term "sodomy" actually applies to acts which are just as easily enjoyed by heterosexuals as by homosexuals.

"Jesus also didn’t say a word about pedophilia, bestiality, or rape."

Actually, he did, in essence. Here's one brief example:

"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." (John 13:34)

People who love each other don't harm each other. Pedophilia, bestiality, and rape are all harms inflicted on others.

Homosexuality, in stark contrast, inflicts no harm on anyone.

"*Apostle Paul."

You reference Paul again, but you still haven't answered my earlier question. Let's try again.

Do you support slavery? Do you believe that women are inferior to men? Do you believe that nobody should ever get divorced? Do you believe that it is better to remain single than to marry?

If you believe that everything Paul said was "exactly as Jesus intended", then you must believe all these things -- because Paul said them.

Do you?
